“Great hostel in a great little town”
Reviewed July 29, 2012

This place has character. Think of an old alpine lodge and that's what you got. Friendly, laid back staff, solid wooden bunkbeds that don't creak and wobble when you move and beautiful mountains where ever you look. Some suggestions though; I walked from the train station with my backpack. It was a little far if you have heavy bags (20 minute walk). There are buses though that stop in front of the hostel. If you have any interest in going to Liechtenstein or western Switzerland, it is cheaper to stay here and explore these areas by day. There are frequent buses that leave for each country. You'll find Austria to be a budget destination compared to these other alpine countries. Oh yeah, they do not take credit cards here (a mild irritation). Bottom line; a great place to stay on the cheap.

Normally we don't stay at hostels but in case of this one we took our chances because of positive reviews and historic building. In the end we were completly satisfied with this experience, but must say the room was TOO small. It was four-five square meters max with two bunk beds, tiny table and a couple of chairs, all amenities were on the floor. Everything else was at the highest level.

I stayed here in August 2011 with a couple of friends, as we travelled throuhg a few countries in Europe. It was very clean, had good features, such as a communal self catering kitchen, a communal washing and drying room and a lounge with wifi. The hostel is a ten minute walk away from the station, and a 15 minute walk from the town centre. Feldkirch is very close to Liechtenstein, which is one of the main reasons why we stayed there, to go to the national day. This hostel overall was exceedingly good for the price, as it had kind and helpful staff and was next to nothing to stay per night, and i would highly reccomend it to anybody hoping to visit the area.

Not normally a hostel person - but this was a great stay!! Only €35 for the room with 3 of us - there were 10 beds in the room and it would have been very cramped. Free internet station and bus stop just outside to take you to town and also onto Lichtenstien. Fantastic historic building as well and staff also great. Thank-you!

Renovated to a superb standard, this is a wonderful place to stay. The staff are wonderful, and the building - a 500 year old hospital - is absolutely beautiful. We paid 35 euro for private use of a 4-bed room: it was small but spotlessly clean and the beds very comfortable. The toilets were so clean you almost felt bad for using them !
It's about a 15-minute walk north of the train station and slightly further to the lovely old town, but there's frequent buses from right outside if you prefer.
A small garden out the back is available. Optional breakfasts are pretty basic but very cheap and filling.

Stayed here for one night, the hostel is in a charming building and everything was clean and comfortable. the hostel itself is not far from the train station so you can get here quite easily. There was internet access, and our room was comfortable, we got a good night's sleep. A nice place to stay in Feldkirch.

Remember that it is the hostel. I have the room with 11 beds but only my family was there. The bedroom is not in the room but it is clean. My wife has a problem as on our floor was a lot of women so it was some ques. The service is really impressive the staff was extremely helpful and there is nice garden and some rooms with table tennis etc.
The driver to visit hotel was the price and the town well situated in western Austria.
