Best Western Premier Kaiserhof Kitzbuehel

Booked a skiing holiday through a UK package tour company for half board at this hotel which are two things we never do and therefore had quite low expectations. Turned out to be probably the best overall hotel experience i have had skiing in europe. The location of the hotel is unbeatable in Kitzbuhel being 20 metres from the bottom of run 21 into town and 50 metres from the main cable car. The service throughout our stay was absolutely faultless, both atentive and friendly. The facilities in the hotel are quite traditional but very clean and spacious. Rooms likewise with decent comfortable beds. what was of most surprise was the food. We were quite expecting to eat in the restaurant a couple of nights and eat out the rest. We ate in the restaurant every night. The food was really good quality and presented in a very modern way with plenty of variety.
To my mind the hotel only has one area of slight weakness but to be fair this is true of Austria generally. The Apres ski/cocktail bar downstairs is not quite right. It is definitely not an apres ski bar as it far to flash and therefore doesnt create the right atmosphere (despite the free afternoon feast to residents). It is definatly a really good after dinner cocktail/piano bar and there lies the problem. SMOKING!! We tried to go there two nights but lasted only one drink. There were only 10 people there, half of them smoking an dispite being a large room there appeared to be little or no air con. Furthermore we later found out that there is a couple of couches in the non smoking area but each time we went there people were happily puffing away anyway. You dont really feel like arriving on the scene and asking people to put their fags out. Any bar in Austria not serving food is a shocker for non smokers. could be a really good bar.
However, the overperformance of the rest of the hotel means that i still have given maximum marks.
Its quite a big hotel so you get quite a good mix of people/nationalities. I would say it would fit couples or smallish groups between 35 and 55 best.
Great holiday.

Delicious food, including 6 course dinner, friendly and efficient staff, spotlessly clean room, warm 9 metre indoor pool, not possible to ski out but very close to main gondola and Kitzbuhel Hahnenkamm rail station and ski in advantage in most conditions. Close to historic old town
One of my top 5 ski hotels in 40 years of skiing. Not cheap but highly recommended, coupled with a great ski area, predominately reds, with numerous mountain restaurants but somewhat spread out if skiing to the furthest points.

Room Tip: If not intending to ski all day ask for a south facing room for sunshine and views of the Hahnenkamm...

The staff were welcoming, friendly and all went out of their way to make our stay thoroughly enjoyable-nothing was too much trouble.
The room was perfect-so nice to have free cold drinks provided daily in the mini bar,and tea and coffee making facility.Towels and toiletries were replaced daily.
Relaxing wellness suite kept clean and well supplied with complimentary refreshments was a welcoming end to our day on the pistes.
But the food was a real taste experience- award winning cuisine-served in the restaurant by the most attentive and delightful staff-my coeliac diet was no problem to them and they made me feel special giving me occaisionally an alternative gluten free option.
We will definitely be staying there again as we had a thoroughly enjoyable experience staying at The Kaiserhof.

Room Tip: Preferably one with a mountain view at the back of the hotel away from the road which can be noisy e...

We came here for a week-long skiing trip in February, and all of us would return in a hearbeat. Every single one of us was and still is --to say the least-- incredibly pleased with how unbelievably nice and efficient the staff was, how great the entire stay turned out to be, and how superb the kitchen cooks every single meal. Michi (Michaela) at the front desk arranged the entire stay for us, so a huge THANK YOU to her.

And as far as the kitchen goes... Oh my was the food delicious! First of all, there is a huge buffet for breakfast with fresh juices, omelets, eggs and waffles made to order, and all kinds of fresh fruits, joghurts, fresh honey, pastry, müsli, breads, jams, etc. Whatever else your heart desires - it's probably there. There's even Prosecco for those who like to start a party early...

For dinner, there is another giant buffet with a huge choice of salads, breads, meats, etc, followed by a three course meal you will never want to miss. The meats for dinner, whether it was lamb shank, venison, or fish: they were always cooked to perfection. I've also tried the vegetarian option, which was just as tasty, but I only tried it once, because I didn't want to miss out on the meats... As far as dessert goes: whatever left the patisserie -- strudels, cakes, mousse -- it was to die for! Chances are, you're not gonna find a better tasting version anywhere else. Seriously. I'm not sure how the kitchen and the hotel manages to keep up these high standards even while the hotel is fully booked, but man, they did it.

And at all times there is the incredible staff which takes your experience up a notch to an even better experience. Humberto, who took care of us during our stay, was able to provide us with such great service, we miss having dinner with him there. Philipp, Franziska, and so many others also added so much to our fun times at the Kaiserhof.

For after dinner or apres-ski, here's a great tip: Go to the Silbar downstairs, and try the "DSK" drink from the bartender Fabian. Or just let him make you any kind of drink you'd like. EVERYTHING he makes tastes awesome. Our family had great fun trying all kinds of his creations.

And then, in case you're also wondering about the skiing part of the trip ;), there's the location: It's almost ski-in-ski-out, it's right next to the gondola and the slopes. You come down the 20, 21, or 22 run and, at the end of it, you are next to the hotel! So yes, it's in a perfect location.

I forgot to mention: the spa area is also very nice! I'm not a big spa fan, so I didn't spend any time there, but those who did loved all the different saunas, the relaxation areas, and the fresh ice to cool off with.

THANK YOU to the entire team at the Kaiserhof hotel in Kitzbühel! We will be back!

This hotel is just gorgeous,

from check in to check out, just wonderful.

Front Desk & Reservations team was super efficent, responded to requests really fast and accurate. We were quite complicated guests (two families) as we had different arrival dates/times and departures and several things had to be arranged due to some birthdays in our party. Thank you Michaela for taking care of us!

Food quality was beyond expectation, the hotel was fully booked with a lot of families with special requests (including us) and the food was really nicely arranged, perfectly cooked and the portions were really good. Service team around Humberto (who served us) was fast, friendly and made us feel totally comfortable.

The only negative aspect was the piano player in the bar, this guy is horrible. But Fabian the barman gave us superb cocktails so we were able to wash it down. ;-)

Thank you Kaiserhof team! Really!

Excellent service in this very well appointed Hotel. Everything kept very clean, food is of exceptional standard. Special mention to Walter the bar man in the main foyer area. We will be back next year. Like everywhere in Kitz drinks can be on the expensive side.

Stayed here for one weeks skiing - two families with teenage kids. Superb location. Hotel ski room is 2 minute walk to gondola. Food is exquisite. Lovely leisure centre with small pool. Plenty of choice of steam rooms/saunas. Bedrooms compact but very well appointed. Town centre, which is beautiful, just 5 mins walk. Highly recommend Kaiserhof and Kitzbuehel. Excellent choice of slopes though probably not really for the faint-hearted beginner
