“Such a lovely hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 17, 2013

This was our fourth stay at this lovely hotel. It is perfectly positioned in the heart of old Kitzbuhel with views of the Kitzbuheler Horn from the rear (and the restaurant) and views of the famous Hahnenkamm ski run from the front bedrooms! All the local buses leave from the stop behind the hotel and the two nearest gondola stations are both easy walks away. Bustling town centre does not intrude on the tranquility of the hotel. Lovely pavement cafe, restaurant meals and service a delight, beautiful indoor pool area, lovely garden, reception staff very friendly and efficient, wifi in the rooms. Can't fault it..

Room Tip: I have heard that the rooms in the eaves can get too hot in the summer.

This was my third trip to this hotel (I'm generally not a returner as I love to try new places but this place is my 'guilty pleasure!') Fantastic as always. Laurent and his restaurant team are a particular delight and make every mealtime an absolute pleasure and something to look forward to every single day. Nothing is ever too much trouble - and we witnessed several guests with particular dislikes or special dietary requirements who were always listened to and catered for in a very lovely and individual manner. I have never before witnessed a breakfast buffet which, every day, is as full for the very last guests as it is for the very first. I often wonder what happens to all of that food (although the staff do look particularly well fed and happy!!) A lovely little touch is the Morning Post - a little daily newsletter, presented at breakfast - with details about staff members, daily weather expected and tips/ideas for sightseeing and walking.

Rooms are immaculate. All staff are exemplary throughout the hotel - and the spa area is a fantastic bonus at the end of a tiring day walking.

My only one little criticism is that when a room is listed as having bath/shower, the shower may not be a full power shower. We had a Junior Suite which had a bathroom big enough to hold a dance in. However, the 'shower' was just a shower attachment attached to the taps (not even fixed to the wall). We didn't complain about this because it was easy enough to shower in the spa at the end of the day - but I would definitely recommend asking about this in advance if this is important to you.

Another fabulous experience at the Tiefenbrunner and one which I hope to keep on repeating in the future! Highly, highly recommended.

Room Tip: A suite with bath and shower does not necessarily mean you'll get a proper power shower in a cub...

Have just returned from our second visit to this hotel. The very high standards are still maintained. Maria Brunner and her staff are very friendly and professional and make you feel so very welcome. The hotel restaurant is run with great efficiency by Laurent. The food is excellent, with ample choice. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. We would have no hesitation in returning and found that many of the guests had stayed previously. The hotel is situated right in the heart of Kitzbuhel which makes it very convenient for access to the cable cars, train stations, bus services and of course the mountains with their excellent views and walks.

Room Tip: A superior room gives you a little extra space and rooms facing the Kitzbuller Horn give you great v...

Hotel is ideally located and of a high standard. Our room was spacious with a sofa, armchair and large screen television which even picked up BBC1. The restaurant has excellent views and all our meals were delicious, from perfectly cooked venison to the most wonderful chocolate dessert. There was a choice of 3 main courses each day and they were seasonal and varied. All the staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful and efficient - nothing was too much trouble. The ladies on reception helped with ideas for days out and gave us information on train times and tips on how to get the best value tickets.

We arrived Kitzbuhl in heavy rain and it kept raining until we went back to Munich. So instead of climbing and hiking in the mountains we were ´forced´to use all available facilities at the hotel. The room were big, the hotel is old and you can tell by the interior - but the sauna and pool area is modern. The also have a nice bar/restaurant that serve good beer. Offers also free parking and wifi. Can recommend this hotel.

This is an amazing place to stay! Surrounded by a lovely town you are made so welcome here. It is a traditional looking hotel of a very high standard. Rooms beautiful, amazing food but most of all every member of staff looks after you. The 'Morning Post' at your breakfast table has lots of information for your day. I highly recommend it.

Stayed here for a fortnight August 2012. Very comfortable hotel in the centre of Kitzbuhel. We had a superior room overlooking the main street, but there was no problem with noise. Staff are very welcoming and efficient. The young man on the reception was great and in a day or two he would remember who you were and have your key out as soon as you came in the door. Food in restaurant was excellent. One evening we had a big thunderstorm and the power was out for over three hours, but the chefs still managed to rustle up an excellent salad and everyone was well fed. There is an indoor pool but I didn't use it so no comment, but it looks nice. At the back of the hotel there is a garden with a pond and some sunloungers on a decking area. Also they have a kniep pool. This is a small pool for paddling your weary feet after a days walking in the hills. It is about 8 to 10 inches deep with small pebbles on the bottom to massage the soles. I used this several times, very refreshing. In the town itself there are bars and pavement cafes. It is nice to sit outside in the evenings and there are regular shows for tourists in the main shopping area at night, with brass bands, local folk music and dancing. Would recommend this hotel and also the area for a walking holiday.
