“Over priced and not as friendly as it likes to say it is.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 2, 2014

This was my second stay in Kitzbuhel. I stayed at this hotel over the crazy busy time of the big race. The initial welcome was luke warm, the receptionist taking no time to explain any of the facilities except to say there was a (very nice) spa in the basement. There was one friendly guy on the reception but otherwise the level of service was extremely poor. Nobody to explain how breakfast worked, the barmen seemed more interested in chatting to themselves than pouring a drink and the manager was diss-interested in knowing his guests. When I arrived too early for breakfast by 30 mins somebody at reception actually rolled there eyes at me. The facilities in the room were very poor. My bathroom flooded every time I pulled the plug on the bath. There was no attempt made to personalise the room, no flowers, no fruit, no mini bar. You might think I am being picky here but this room was sold as being a welcoming and "a home without being a home". For 550 Euros a night they need to put way more effort in to make you feel even comfortable.

Room Tip: Stay at the Tiefenbrunner hotel. The rooms are better, the family really cares and its not as expens...

My wife and I stayed here for 3 short nights, which is clearly not long enough to experience all that Kitzbuhel has to offer. That said, the Q! Hotel Maria Theresia was a great base to enjoy our experience fully.

Admittedly, being in Kitzbuhel during the week of the big race (not during the weekend, but earlier in the week) would be an outstanding experience no matter where you were sleeping. But, this hotel is very nice with excellent amenities, furnishings, and location.

It's just a very short walk to the town center with a few good, fun restaurants and bars, and it's not too far from the slopes/train station if that's your mode of entry/exit from Kitzbuhel. Of course, "not too far" becomes a long slog in ski boots, so I'd advise using a ski locker at the base of the gondola. The Maria Theresia seems to have an arrangement with Element 3 for a free locker if you have your own skis or rent from them, but since I rented from Intersport ahead of time I needed to pay extra. Either way, I'd recommend getting the locker.

The staff was great and accommodating, and the breakfast service was super. As with any upscale European hotel the food was plentiful and fresh to get you on the slopes in good shape.

I'd definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.
Happy travels!

Room Tip: The ones on the front of the hotel have outstanding views of the mountains, but it seems that noisy...

We were forced to spend one night in Kitzbühel, from Jan 5, 2014 to Jan 6, 2014, because we had been invited to a party. This hotel was one of the cheaper ones on offer but still ridiculously expensive. Here a brief summary:

Positives:
The valet service for car parking was perfect and the young guy who did this was charming and efficient.
Location is perfect for exploring the old town

Negatives:
All the light shades on the wall lamps in the corridor leading were broken and in need of replacement,
Room was a throwback to the 60s, at back of building with a view of a desolate back yard,
bathroom hadn't been touched for 50 years and wasn't too hygeinic,
Bed side light was the worst of Ikea and was almost impossible to read by,
Mirror on wall wasn't in a frame and had just been glued to wall,
No carpets or rugs
Breakfast was at the most average

On the whole a good Pension offers more for a fraction of the price

We stayed in this lovely hotel from the 21st-28th December. Five mins walk to lift, the hotel sorted our ski passes out and had a discount from hotel from element 3 ski hire, which were brilliant , intersport less personal service and more expensive.
We had a superior double room on the 4th floor with a balcony. It was lovely and quiet, exceptionally clean and comfortable, the pillows are small but we asked for more and they were delivered.
Breakfast was a buffet and was beautiful, if you wanted anything different such as fried eggs, boiled eggs etc it was done . Choices of different coffee were available and was lovely.
Sauna/ spa area was lovely after a days skiing.
Things to improve:-
We would have liked tea/coffee making facilities In room, and English breakfast tea but that's just being picky .
Lovely hotel would return .

If you've read my previous review I mentioned the horrible mullet that was served to me. Well tonight it was spaghetti mare and a creme brûlée dessert that was delicious. Perhaps they had a different chef on. The staff in the restaurant was friendly and attentive as per last night. I'm hoping this trend continues. Now if there is less noise outside the room tonight it would increase my rating for certain.

Very good choice to stay in Kitzbuehl. Modern but charming hotel near to ski the slopes and city center. We stayed for Valentine´s weekend and everything was so romantic!

When we stayed there the hotel rooms were not completely renewed so we got an older room in Tyrolean style but we liked it for its charm and warmth. Small spa area is nice and comfortable.

What we loved most is that you can enjoy fine drinks every evening in hotel where most of the hotel guests spend time. I remember we even danced!

Service was just perfect!!!

Parking (valet available) is in the parking area near the hotel.

For skiers, you can't get much better than this. Comfy down bedding, balconies to catch the sun and large windows that open up in rooms that are outfitted in an eclectic yet utterly charming collection of wooden furniture, poster beds and Tyrolean wardrobes. Immaculately clean, not the largest of rooms but the lounge and bar area is so inviting, you'll find yourself popping in and out to change or sleep. It's a hop and a skip from the slopes, great saunas and hot tubs and the food is wonderful, too. You can expect a 3 course meal with your stay and breakfast is served in the mornings. Great coffee - grab a sweet bread as you go out the door. Management is friendly, attentive and gave us great tips on places to see, eat and drink where the locals frequent. For non-skiers, the town is beautifully safe and utterly Tyrolean, has quaint shops and cars up the mountain. The Austrian Alps are at your fingertips. As an added bonus, the hotel is a melting pot of cultures. We made new friends from Japan, Australia, Italy and Denmark during our stay!

Room Tip: Street front rooms are not noisy (there's little traffic here) and have a great view of the moun...
