“A Perfect Find in Kitzbuhel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

It was my first visit to Kitzbuhel and I found the perfect hotel.
I have just returned from my stay at the Tennerhof.
The hotel is family run and was absolutely perfect.
My accommodation , a Junior Suite, was very comfortable with lovely views onto the town.
Food at the Tennerhof is excellent with a wonderful buffet breakfast and a very lovely Dinner with choices in the evening..
The lounge is very inviting and the staff are very helpful and friendly.
It is a small hotel and you really feel " At Home " .
Thank you to all at the hotel for making my stay so enjoyable.

We stayed at the Tennerhof from the end of February till the beginning of March. Flights were to Munich and the Hotel had arranged transportation from the airport to the Hotel. Perfect service, great chauffeur! The Hotel is not so big (up to 40 rooms i guess) so it has this really nice "being at home" feeling. The staff is really friendly and helpful and there was no wish they did not do or took care of. The rooms (we had a upgrade to the suite) were really lovely, clean and decorated in this Austrian rustic style. The breakfast and dinner were excellent, 1 star Michelin if i remember correctly and that is something you taste there! Merci!!! The Hotel is located at the side of Kitzbühel so it is wise to take the shuttle bus arranged by the Hotel when going skiing. 10 min walk to the center is not much but having all the skiing stuff with you the shuttle bus is the best thing. The Spa/massage/swimming area are also nice and fulfill their purposes. If you want to party, have après-ski then I recommend a Hotel in the center but if you want to have some privacy, good service and excellent food with amazing views on the mountain then this Hotel definitely is a really good choice!

Location: Just up the hill from town. It is not in city center, but it is a short walk and they have a shuttle - and arent afraid to use it.
Quality of Accomodations: First Rate. It is a typical Austrian Alpine design, done right, with modern features, such as heated tiles in bath, to go along with elements of classic inns (in room authentic fireplaces), that lead to a comfortable stay.
Service: I cannot compliment the service highly enough. Thomas was outstanding, as was the restaurant staff and the bell staff. And the front desk staff. And the housekeeping. This was true 5 Star Service.
Restaurant: Expensive but worth it. The best service we had over a 2 week trip through Venice, Austria, Budapest and Paris.

Room Tip: You will not regret this decision. Trust me.

It was my first time in Kitzbuhel, and i had no previous knowledge about the hotel, only what i gathered quickly on their website, shortly before our arrival.
All the reviews i read on the trip advisor describe well the nature of the place, but i want to emphasize the superb personal and their friendliness and willingness to help.
The restaurant has one Michelin star and always delivered very tasty and satisfying meal.
One more thing WiFi is actually everywhere in the hotel, except the restaurant , which is great, you can enjoy your food and the company :)

Room Tip: Room with a view, second or third floor, usually junior suite or high grade.

A R&C hotel as a R&C hotel should be. I can not realy find any item which should / could have been better (I I have to find one: it was to warm in our junior suite :) ). We stayed for 4 nights.
1. Location: idealy placed - not to close but close enough to the city center (Shuttle service if required). 2. Rooms: well equiped and spacious. 3. Restaurant(s): high quality food 4. Breakfast: extended choice 5. Ambiance: relaxed, friendly but still distinct 6. Service: professional
So: continue the good job

Suite is great, location is not bad 10 minutes walk to the centre, food selection is not large, more or less more gourmet but nothing special for kids, breakfast is good but in my opinion it's not a 5 star hotel, it's over priced for the facilities, there isn't a fitness, no kids club, no ski hire,no play room. Staff is very friendly. It's more for couples and elderly people.

I was looking to organise a last minute ski holiday and luckily came across the Tennerhof which had availability at a reasonable rate. The booking process was quick and easy.

When I arrived, I was met with a warm welcome and guided to a great room with nice facilities. The room was equipped well - tv, minibar, safe, sockets etc. The tv had a wide choice of about 30 channels - CNN being the English option. Wireless Internet along with public Internet stations and a printer were available below the reception.

Communal areas were very nice and gave a good atmosphere - especially the bar in the evening with live background music performances. A good sized pool with hot tub and selection of spa treatments was a nice bonus that I hadn't realised when booking. I also made use of the ski store.

I sampled the delights of both the breakfast room and restaurant. My evening meal in the restaurant was superb! The garden areas look like they would be fantastic in the summer. It is far enough out of the main town that it is quiet and peaceful but still close enough for convenience.

Kitzbuhel is a good resort and the Tennerhof is within a short, pleasant walk although a complimentary mini bus is available to shuttle guests. I arrived by train, to the main station which is a short journey down the road or a 20minute walk - very easy. The mini bus takes guests to the lift but given the conditions, I walked on a couple of occasions to the closest lift (5 minutes) where ski rental facilities are available. This side of the mountain has fewer runs but have me a good day of skiing. There was no snow at the lower levels during my stay but it may be possible to ski down to the lift or straight from the slopes to the hotel given its location.

I'd thoroughly recommend this hotel and will likely be returning myself.
