Owner description: A new way to climb a mountain: not far from Innsbruck’s famed “Goldenes Dachl”, an amorphous ice formation glitters in the sun. Upon closer inspection, however, it reveals itself as the lower terminus of the Hungerburgbahn hybrid funicular railway, whose striking appearance sprung from the imagination of star architect Zaha Hadid.

Short trip but worth it. Efficient and frequent service. You get one free trip if you buy an "Innsbruck Card"

“Great views”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 5, 2013 via mobile

I don't know how much this costs normally because I had an Innsbruck card but its worth going up there for some great mountain views, you take both a funicular and a cable car. Both the moutain and the cable car where packed!!! But then I did it in March which is still peak ski season

The funicular leaves every 15 mins from the distinctive station close to the centre of town. The trip up the hill gives outstanding views over the city. great access to the Alpenzoo
