We booked this hotel on the recommendations of Trip Advisor members and would certainly support them. We found Igls village an ideal place to start and finish our Austrian holiday. It is about 20 minutes drive from Innsbruck airport. The Sonnenhof is located down a quiet lane but only 5-10 minutes walk from the bustling ski village. The owner of the hotel is very friendly, speaks reasonable English and gives good advice. Our room was comfortable and spotless. There were excellent views from the balcony of the mountains and countryside. There was a TV in the room. By way of a change from the norm, there was a dressing room with cupboards, shelves, mirror, hooks for coats and clothes rail rather than a wardrobe. I don't think there was internet facilities but there were plenty of brochures and maps available. The excellent breakfast was buffet style although nobody was on hand to serve coffee etc, which is usual. Having said that, the owner was always nearby. The breakfast room was light with attractive wooden decor. There is a bar in the adjoining room which is possibly used for guests athough this was not pointed out to us. As a result of our first night stay here, we booked our last night as well. We would recommend that you take a trip on the Cable car up the Patscherkofel to savour the view of the mountains, also visit the village coffee shop where there is an array of cakes to die for.

This was my first trip for snow skiing in Austria and I found this hotel via a web site. I had an absolutely great experience with this hotel.

The rates were absolutely fair and the owner was very helpful with information and directions. The owner also speaks English.

I stayed in one of the "apartment type" two room accomadations. The rooms were very clean and contained refrigerator and stove. Perfect for a ski vacation where you don't always want to go out and eat.

The location is very close to the center of this small town but just far enough away for it to be oerfectly quiet. It is about a 5 minute walk to the main grocery store and center of town.

I would absolutely recommend this hotel if staying in the Ski resort of Igls.

I travelled in a group of nine to Igls, staying in the hotel Sonnenhof for a few days skiing. The hotel was very clean and welcoming meeting all our basic needs. The rooms are a good size with double beds, lounge area, TV and balcony with excellent views. The bathroom has a bath/shower, toilet and wash basin and towels are provided. Breakfast is continental with a good selection of meats, cheeses and breads and a fair choice of fruit and cereals.

The location of the hotel is about 5mins walk to Igls town and a further 2mins uphill to the lifts. The locals are very friendly and Igls has some pretty buildings. There are plenty of restaurants and bars for après ski and a terrific pizzeria. The only down side is that smoking is still permitted in public places.

The slopes are well looked after, good wide runs and an efficient lift system. No waiting at the bottom to get on the lifts either, it was great, we loved it.
