“Nasty and Disgusting”
Reviewed September 7, 2012

I stay in Hotel Sailer last week. It was raining so the weather was cold. I had asked for one more blanket but OMG! tomorrow I saw some rash on my hands, wrists and feet. Today all my rashes turn to target lesions that my doctor told me it is" tick-insect bite reaction with erythema migrans". Here are the pictures to tell the truth.

Hotel is conveniently located, about 10 minutes walk from the centre. Spacious rooms, clean linen and bath. Breakfast is good, but the coffee is mediocre. It's a good place to stay for a visit to Innsbruck and the areas around (which are marvellous). However, the hotel is to be avoided when it's hot. The reception area is hot and the rooms (no airconditioning) are hotter. We were lucky in having obtained a fan from reception but even that did not facilitate sleep (admittedly there was a heatwave).

Stayed 3 nights here and happy with service and location. Hardly 10 minutes walking distance away from the old town and very well located. Nice big double room with bath tub in bathroom. Varied buffet breakfast. The only complaint is that the hotel has no airconditioning - and it was HOT. But we asked for a fan and we were given one immediately. Rack rates are expensive but we got a deal from Hotels.com where we paid for 2 nights and got 3, so that was good value.

Pros:
great location
good breakfast, the restock it as things run out...most hotels don't really do that
GREAT service by the staff, some of the best I have experienced in Europe

Cons:
great location comes with noise, and vagrants...lots of people milling about with no reason on the streets after dark, didn't feel very safe

We booked this hotel through another website...it was falsely advertised. The hotel staff did everything they could to fix the issues, and the outcome was completely resolved. I don't think that any other hotel around would do that. They also fixed the website description of the room immediately!, proof enough for me that it wasn't their intent to bait and switch like other hotels.

I would stay here again outside of the peak summer heat months.

The sauna and steam rooms area is very clean and nice.

Went here during Summer, 2012

Pros
The service was excellent. We had a pet emergency at home back in the United States at midnight and they were happy to fax something to our vet in the United States at no charge.

They upgraded our hotel room for free due to a safe issue (see below)

Very good shower, heavy pressure.
Good beds

Mids
Solid location, around 5-10 minutes from Oldtown.

Cons
Safe did not work properly but they upgraded our room.
Bathroom was weird, it was not separate from the other rooms, the toilet and shower were separated by the room, and the shower was partially see-through (would be an issue for taller families.
No Coffee/tea making equipment
There was no air conditioning (but there was a heater so go here in the winter i guess.)
Not a good view.

Would be a 2 without the good service. 3 due to that.

Room Tip: During the summer due to there being no air conditioning, be sure to pick a room further away from t...

This hotel was overpriced by the standard of the room. Our room was located on the street side and because we had no air coniditioning, we opened the windows. There were people down on the street from some bar who were arguing. The room was so stuffy that we had no choice but to leave the windows open. The next morning we woke up to construction on the street and horrible traffic noise. In addition the bathroom set up was bizarre. I was traveling with my 20 year old son and 23 year old daughter so a glass bathroom was very awkward to say the least.

Room Tip: Go somewhere else.

This is one of the worst hotels we have ever stayed in.It should not even be called an hotel but a cheap second rate guest house. The staff are unfriendly, unhelpful, even bordering on insolent. There is no room service,no tea/coffee making facilities, poor internet provision, small bar area doubling as dining area. The rooms are poorly furnished with a transparent glass panelled shower area in the middle of the bedroom. The breakfast was unappetising with dry rolls, lukewarm hot food and a poor selection of meat and cheeses. Our hotel booking forced us to go halfboard but utter confusion as to what was the difference between halfboard and a la carte. No menu was ever made available to us despite constant requests. As a result we only had 2 evening meals in the hotel. The receptionists were permanently situated behind a glass partition some way back from the front desk and answered all queries in a surly manner. We therefore decided to find another hotel close by for the last few nights.

Room Tip: Rooms on front of hotel directly opposite building site.
