“Historic hotel-love you very much”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 2, 2012

We took the Bus F from Innsbruck airport which took 20 mins to reach to bus stop "Anichstrasse” and the hotel is within a few minutes walking distance from there.
We were amazed to see the hotel building- it is several hundred years old and Mozart stayed here.
We felt proud that we stayed in this historic hotel for a night in September 2012 and what a wonderful stay! It was the Hotel is located right in the heart of the old town. The rooms were comfortable and very charming. It has a great location in the old town, just beside the Goldenes Dachi. They also served a delicious breakfast! The staffs were very helpful and friendly, went out of their way to help us and gave us a city map, directions and guided us in all respects.

Museumstrasse is only a 3 mins walk from the hotel. There we took a shuttle to go to Swarovski Crystal world. Hofburg is also a 5 mins walk. We easily walked to Nordkettenbahnen (12 min walk) to take to funicular up into the mountains. What a view!

My suggestion is to buy an Innsbruck card (24hrs/ 48hrs/ 72hrs- as per stay) from Tourist Information Centre, just 2 mins from the hotel so that you get almost everything free including the transport, tram and bus J(to Patscherkofelbahn)

We also saw Goldenes Dachi, the Hofburg palace , Nordkettenbahnen as these are within walking distance.
In addition we went to Patscherkofelbahnen where we enjoyed 360 degree view of snow-capped mountains with about 400 peaks. We took the Bus J which you can catch on MeseumStass, 2 mins from hotel.

We also went to Bergisel by taking tram no. 1 from the above mentioned MuseumStass and saw the ski jump stadium and enjoyed breath-taking view from the top. We came back by the sightseeing bus which is also included in Innsbruck card.
The hotel is 15/20 min walk from the rail station and we managed to pull our suitcases easily to get next destination.
Overall, we are happy that we stayed here and will stay again if opportunity arises.

My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon this past September and were so impressed. The rooms are cute and spacious. We were very comfortable and were pleasantly surprised that when the windows are closed, no sounds from the street come in the room! The breakfast was also delicious! We would most definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: You may want to choose a room off the main street in the summer when the windows need to be open, bu...

We stayed there one night in September 2012. It was not a luxury hotel, but it was a very good night stay. The beds were comfortable, the breakfast was good, and it was surprisingly quite given its central location. It is a historic building, and has some of the character associated with it - none of the walls or floors are level or square, and the stairs are uneven, but it is outfitted with modern convinces like a modern bathroom and an elevator in the building. The service was good. It is a great, small european hotel with lots of local flair at a reasonable price. Stay here rather than a cookie-cutter chain hotel and you won’t be disappointed!

Room Tip: The room facing the main square was quiet enough.

I had three nights at this charming hotel in the central of Innsbruck in early December 2011. It really is an absolutely lovely hotel to stay at - smack bang in the middle of town, its location is good, but the noise from the street does not disturb a nice nights sleep. The hotel 'reeks' of history in such a lovely way - uneven stairs, walkways, nooks and crannies, you can almost imagine in your mind some of the famous guests staying over the long time it has been there!

My room was not huge, but very comfortable, with a nice ensuite bathroom that was smallish but very functional. But the room was lovely and warm and had everything you could possibly want. The breakfast was yummy and included in my rate room, which was really pleasant. Staff were generally very helpful, with good tips about what to see and do in the town!

Only thing that wasn't so good was the whole European style hand the key in at the reception when leaving - but its merely an inconvenience rather than a problem!

Had a lovely stay here, and hoping to stay again one day in the future!

The Hotel is located right in the heart of the old town. Simply perfect. The building itself is very characterful with many paintings. However I did find it cold in my room one September evening (Innsbruck is in the mountains and can become quite cool at night) and asked a staff member if the heating in my room could be switched on. She said that this was not possible! She did get me an extra blanket but it seems that the heat only comes on when it is really cold outside. If you are not from a mountain climate, bring very warm pyjamas when staying at this hotel!

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel and loved it as much this time as the first time! It is a quirky old building with little rooms tucked away throughout, but the rooms are very comfortable and it's in the best location right in the heart of the old town.

This hotel was very thematic to Austrian architecture and we loved all the idiosyncrocies such as the uneven stairs and walkways as it added to the character of the place. We were literally in the hub of the old town and the staff were very helpful. The wifi didn't work from our room, so we had to use the lounge area. Breakfasts were beautiful!
