Leipziger Hof is well located - 10-12 minutes comfortable walking distance from the Station (English Papers) and 20 minutes from the Old Town. Its front faces a lovely mature treed Park. The good points we noted were (not in order of priority) :-
* Excellent Breakfast room and food range on offer - really great.
* Free Internet (very important these days).
* Excellent spacious Reception area , with very friendly courteous Staff , Thorsten the Mgr. &
his Ladies. Nothing was ever too much trouble to help with.
* An excellent Restaurant. The Ambience was classy Tyrolean , the food and range of same
was great , and Nathalie the Waitress was a joy to interact with.
* Very good secure private vehicle parking within the Hotel rear grounds at a reasonable Euro
10 per day.
* Room pricing that is fair and competitive - for what is offered.

And for the (few) negatives from our perspective :-

* The rooms allocated to us (a Suite with two rooms & interconnecting door) had no carpet or
tiles. Just wooden boards that were not sealed. No carpet squares - nothing - just wooden
boards. I was not able to sight any other rooms so I am unaware if they were the same or
were carpeted. We were given no advance notice of this when booking and were therefore
not able to consider two individual rooms next or near to each other (assuming they were
carpeted). I was not impressed !!!
* The Bedroom furniture was sparse and drab/dated 70'ish - absolutely not **** star standard.
* The bathroom was very small and had no weight scales - surely a basic & important
accessory in todays health conscious age ?
* As per our 40+ years practice when travelling ; we put the "do not disturb" sign outside our
Bedroom door and went down for breakfast , leaving laptop computers & wallets & small
change & personal effects on the desk tops , intending to come back & tidy the room for
service & put away our personal effects before we went out for the day & changed the door
sign to "make up room". During our absence at breakfast the cleaning staff ignored the sign
and entered the room and undertook their normal daily freshening up procedures. This has
never once happened to us before in all the years I have travelled for both Business &
Personal reasons.
To their credit the Hotel (Thorsten) wrote a kind letter of apology & gave us a bottle of
Champagne & Chocolates. I accepted his/the Hotel's apology without reservation. BUT this
was a breach of trust and could hypothetically in other circumstances have had negative
unintended consequences....
* The rooms were NOT Air-Conditioned - they only had ceiling fans(nominated on the booking
confirmation). But the problem there was that after opening the windows to get air circulation ,
the traffic noise in the late evening & early morning was really disconcerting.
* The bedrooms had no Bar Fridge. I cannot recall ever previously staying in an "alleged"
****star Hotel that did not have personal Bar Fridges in the rooms for guest convenience !

It is a good Hotel. We would definitely return as the positives far outweigh the nominated negatives. But I cannot accept that the present offering represents a genuine 4-star Hotel (and which we booked on the basis of). It is more accurately a Mid-3 or a bit higher. If the Management invest in bedroom upgrades to bring it more reasonably to **** status then it would be close the optimum that any Family could reasonably look for where their choice category was ***star.

We stayed here as a stop over on our way from Italy to Germany and unfortunately we only stayed one night. We made a mistake here while planning our holiday as we really should have spent more time in Innsbruck and more nights at this wonderful hotel. We were travelling as a family with 2 young boys (4 & 8) and our family room was fantastic. The breakfast was the best we had on our trip so far and we will definitely return one day to spend more time in Innsbruck.

Room Tip: If you have children the family room is great!

Our family of four had a very pleasant 1 day stay at Innsbruck's Hotel Leipziger Hof. We had two rooms with double beds overlooking the courtyard. The hotel interior is modern, comfortable, and very clean throughout the building - and only a 5 min drive to downtown attractions. Free WiFi was also available in our rooms. Our rooms had fans - but no A/C. However, large windows opened at the top to let in Innsbruck's cool nighttime breeze, however, it was a little humid in June.
Leipziger Hof has an excellent buffet breakfast - with a menu on each table to order additional hot food items - such as fried or scrambled eggs, bacon, pancakes and sausage. There was a very attractive Pradel Park across the street, and we took a walk through it the next morning.
All of the reception staff also spoke English, and were very helpful in giving us tips about Innsbruck attractions. The staffs at the morning buffet were always cordial - and made us feel welcome. Obviously, everyone on the hotel staff is very well trained. We were fortunate to find a parking spot in front of the hotel.

The hotel overlooks a delightful park, which you can walk through to the city.staff friendly and room quiet and comfortable.the pillows, however, were great lumps of latex, there was no choice, apparently they are anti allergy pillows.horrible.breakfast buffet was terrific only let down by the coffee ,we have been travelling around Austria by train, the coffee on-board has been good so a mystery why hotel coffee is often dire.overall good value and location 10 minutes from the train station.sauna open 4-10pm was a bonus.

Well located just on the edge of the old town. Overlooking a lovely little park. A pleasant 15 min walk to the old town. Spacious room, lovely staff, reception staff met us in the car park and showed us to our space.
The only down side was the shower, an odd contraption over the centre of the bath with a clumsy screen that was difficult to get into place and did not prevent the floor from being soaked.
A very nice sauna on the top floor with amazing views of the mountains

Room Tip: Rooms at the front have a view over the park
