“A Good hotel, a great location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 12, 2013

I went with a ski group to Innsbruck which has nine ski areas in the Alps which surround the town. The Grauer Bar is directly across the street from St. James Church and only two blocks from the Old City with it's myriad restuarants, shopping and attractions. The hotel is a step above the basic with a terrific rooftop indoor pool, outdoor spa overlooking the church bell towers, and sauna and steam rooms in addition to a small fitness center.
The meals are very well prepared and very tasty. The rooms are extremely basic. The beds are small, there are no dresser drawers, just shelves and no hooks. They are somewhat larger than many in Europe so it's a trade off. The ski bus stops around the corner from the hotel with the drop off return at the train station about five blocks away. i would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a moderately priced hotel in a very convenient location.

Room Tip: There is a new wing that has more amenities.

This hotel is only a 2 minute walk to the main city sights which made it really easy to go back to the hotel for our daughter's nap. The hotel rooms were very nice, comfortable and clean. The breakfast was delicious and provided a great variety from which to choose.

The staff were very friendly and helped us buy the innsbruck card which i highly recommend. It's a great value. And the hop on, hop off sightseeing bus picks up right in front of the hotel. Can't get much more convenient than that!

We were visiting during Christmas so we really loved strolling through the Christmas Market at night, enjoying the toddler rides, the gluewhein and yummy treats from the vendors.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Got the winter ski deal that included breakfast, dinner, ski passes and transport and had the best 4 days in Innsbruck. Location was really great being right next to the Old Town and a short walk from the train station, not to mention that there is a ski field that is a 5-min walk down the road.

Rooms were really nice and the wellness center was invaluable after coming home from 6 hours+ of skiing and being able to sit in the outdoor jacuzzi or in the fully-equipped sauna and steam room (not to mention they also had a pool!). The buffet meals were excellent and I looked really forward to coming back for the huge Austrian buffet every night after hitting the slopes.

Staff were also very friendly and helpful and organised everything you needed. They also have a great arrangement with a local ski hire place that will pick you up from the hotel, kit you out with everything you need, then drop you back at the hotel and then pick all the gear up from the hotel ski room once you're done with it. Made the experience so much easier.

Highly recommended and will definitely be going back again in future years.

This hotel is in a great location near all activities in Innsbruck Austria. Our deal included breakfast and dinner which were both very good providing a good selection for all. We were with a party of 35 people and they reserved an eating area for our group so we could be close. Stop by and say hello to the bar tender Rooney, (tell him Charlie from NJ say's hi!) he was great. If your a skier you need to go to Ischgl and Stubai Glacier, they were great. You will want to get transportation and get there early to avoid the rush. A few bars to visit are the 360, Orangeira and the bar in the Pens Hotel on the 5th floor.

While I wouldn't describe the room as spectacular, it was clean and functional. The bathroom had the toilet in a separate, closed-off area, which makes getting ready in the morning easier for two people. The heat was a bit excessive, so we closed the radiators and opened the bedroom window - otherwise we would have stiffled under the duvet.

The provided breakfast did not change at all over the 7-day stay and became a bit boring, even though the food quality was good. Dinner was also a buffet, and there were daily changes in the meat, fish, pasta and vegetables, although the salad bar was essentially the same.

Room Tip: Ask for an inside room away from the street for better views and less noise.

Stayed here recently as part of a business trip unfortunately our first night was the same night as the American Superbowl, and the hotel was hosting a party which began at 12AM! Not much sleep the first night due to my room being directly above the reception area, so sounds of drunks and awful smell of cigarettes. However the rest of the week was quiet and what I would expect from a nice hotel.
The food was amazing healthy choices and excellent staff. The pool and hot tub are lovely but times a little difficult with a working schedule. Would stay here again as location and food is fab. However smoking in hotel is something that really puts me off.

Nice, tidy, clean, useful staff. The room as such is not spectacular, but it the hotel has very good breakfast and common areas and it is in a great location - would recommend, good provision for the price
