“A step to the future”

This futuristic lighttrain is a must for whomever is visiting the city. We had the chance to also ride it in the past but also on our recent trip and would sincerelly recomend it. It lead to one of Innsbruck's ski sites with a breathtaking view.

“Great views!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 29, 2013

It is very easy to go to the Nordkettenbahnen as the ride starts almost straight from city center, right besides congress hall. It is worth going even if you are not going to ski as the view is absolutely beautiful.

“Breathtaking”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 25, 2013

My wife and I went on the train/cable car, the day was bright and sunny and the views were magnificent. People were sunbathing in deck chairs, the beauty of Nordkette (as the name suggests) is that it faces south and so enjoys more hours of sunshine than other ski areas around Innsbruck. We enjoyed a nice lunch on the restauant terrace and watched the skiers and snow boarders with envy.
My wife who had only ever had one ski lesson in Australia was inspired to promise that we would visit the snow next winter in Australia, to get some lessons so she might come back and ski in this beautiful area. All this just days after her 60th birthday!.
I was even more inspired, 15 +years since I last had a pair of skis on, I went back the next day and actually skied, boy I was rusty, but had a two hour lesson that gave me the confidence to "go for it"
Roll on next August when us two seniors take up skiing again.

“Up to the Top!”

It is a must if you are in Innsbruck as you can hardly have a better place to see the city and the mountains around and it is a convenient raid anyway.

“Wonderful experience- not to be missed”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 18, 2013

Indeed as other reviewers have said, you must go all the way to the top- but ensure that you go on a good visibility day. On a rainy day it would be a waste of money. Allow two hours from start to finish so that you can walk around at the top as well as the intermediate stops. There is a good simple restaurant right at the top for minor refreshments. The ride is great and the views spectacular. Well recommended.
