We went up around 1030am. We didn't have to stand in line, the gondola to the top cost about 25€. Great view. Tourists should note, it is super slippery when there is snow. Wear hiking boots. Amazing how many underprepared people were up there sliding and falling in dress boots. Most of the hiking trails from the top were already closed which was disappointing but due to snow so couldn't be helped. We took the gondola down to the mid mountain stop and hiked down into town from there. It was a bit treacherous and took about 3 hours but very fun and picturesque. We stopped at the Innsbruck christkindlmarkt afterwards which was really fun. I enjoyed my Gluwine and commemorative cup as well as the great atmosphere with all the Christmas lights.
