“I love it”
Reviewed March 19, 2014 via mobile

At the Bauernkeller you can eat nice and authenthic dishes in an nice ambiance for fare prices.
The location is between the city center and the railway station, actually in a basement. (Bauernkeller means farmers basement XD )
But inside it is very cosy, and the staff is friendly and quick.
I found this restaurant by Tripadvisor and visited three times now, you won't regrad it!

“Nice Tirolean food”
Reviewed January 1, 2014

This restaurant is a 5-10 minute walk from the old town, towards the main train station. It is in a cellar and the decor is regional with paintings of the Tirolean countryside and other items such as the regional-type fry pans on the walls. The menu was modest but interesting enough. The serving sizes were generous. The service was good and friendly. The price was very reasonable. This restaurant is a welcome break from all the tourist traps in Innsbruck and I recommend a visit if you you would like to try the local cuisine.

“Authentic Tyrolean food.”
Reviewed December 27, 2013

We would never have found this place without the Tripadvisor app on my phone. However I'm glad we did find it.

It's quite a small cellar away from the old town tourist traps. It's decorated in traditional style and is quite homely. The service is attentive and the menu, although limited, was sufficient for us to enjoy two evening meals there.

“Tyrolean Home Style Meals.”
Reviewed August 14, 2013

The Tiroler Bauernkeller is about a 10 minute walk from the Basic Hotel. We stayed there in May. When we asked at hotel reception as to where we could eat local food, we were refered here.
The restaurant is at the Brixner Strasse end of Meinhard Strasse and is downstairs off street level. It has good service and great atmosphere. They serve typical Tyrol home cooking of which there is plenty of food at a reasonable price.
We each had pork/bacon, onion, potato stew with an egg, sunny side up, on top plus sweet vinegar cabbage. That plus 3 wines cost 26 Euro. The meal was delicous.
I highly recommend.
