We found this hotel after a long comparisation between all the hotels in salzburg, seeking for a CLEAN, QUIET (so not in the town center), GREEN (for the 2years baby), NOT TOO EXPENSIVE (well, we are talking of a 15 days trip all around Austria and Germany), with RESTAURANT INSIDE (you know: the baby and the weather..), with BUS/METRO (to go rapidly to the center without taking the car), with free WIFI (to stay connected) ACCOMODATION. This Blobergerhof is the best choice we could do. Furthermore the staff is very polite and nice, avalaible to give all the infos you could need (even if all the info you could need are already answered in the book they leave in your room at arrival..). The room was very wide, the bed was a dream (old stylish, with a mirror over it..), the breakfast was really really delicious (sweeties and salads to satisfy every kind of guests), the around is very green and - despite of the restaurant inside is good - in 200 metres you will find an excellent austrian restaurant - absolutely not for tourists (found with tripadvisor too) . I could not imagine anything better if you have to spend some days in Salzburg and you don't want to stay in the middle of town.

We stayed because of the great reviews on tripadvisor and were not disappointed at all. Our suite was huge and immaculate, the breakfast was extensive, and we even had 2 dinners in their restaurant because the food was that good. No question, we'll stay again next time we visit the area.

Normally when I’m on holidays, I prefer to stay in hotels that are in the centre of town to get the most of my touring. But when I was searching for a place to stay in Salzburg & read all of the positive reviews for the Bloberger Hof, I thought I would give it a go and try something different. I was travelling by car, so the drive into town wasn't going to be an issue, plus I wanted to experience more of a traditional stay in a farmhouse at the base of the mountains.
The B&B was just perfect for us and we were so happy that we chose it rather than a hotel in the city. From our booking, to organising our tours, breakfast & dinner, to the day we checked out we received great service. Typical of a family run business that values its guests more like family rather than clients. We couldn’t have asked for anymore and we were sad that we only stayed for two nights.
We had booked the family room which had a two floor layout. The rooms were comfortable and had plenty of space. We had a full size bathroom upstairs, TVs on both floors, safe, free wifi, and balcony. The rooms looked newly renovated and were decorated fairly modern for a traditional farmhouse. The bed was firm but comfy. More importantly, there was no road noise, perfect for a good night sleep.
We didn’t bother going into town for dinner after getting good feedback from fellow guests. The Bloberger Hof had a traditional Austrian menu that was well-priced with several dish options. In my opinion, the schnitzel I ordered was better than the one I ordered at world famous schnitzel of the “Figlmüller Wollzeile” in Vienna. Good food & cheap beer, what more could you ask for.
Don’t let the location put you off from staying here. It’s only a 10 to 15 euro cab fare to the city and getting here by car is easy. A word of advice, our last 2 km was via the scenic route, it was a nice drive through the beautiful countryside, but for those of you that are not comfortable with single lane winding roads I would suggest setting your GPS to take the main roads.
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling with a family and wanted a nice comfortable place to stay with a view.

We stayed in room 22 for 4 nights in early August. Our room offered a balcony with a dramatic view of the Untersberg. The room was spacious with king bed and pull-out queen for our 9 year old son. The room had an en suite shower and separate room with toilet. There was a mini bar and large flat screen tv. The room was not air conditioned and the weather was very hot (30-35 degrees each day we were there) but we were comfortable with a fan and the cool mountain breeze through the screened balcony door at night. The room and the hotel are quite clean and very well kept. The grounds are well groomed with plenty of flowers in the gardens. The breakfast was bountiful with your choice of eggs to order, fine meats and cheeses, a great selection of rolls and breads, fruit juices, fresh fruit and more. The food served at dinner in the restaurant was of the highest quality. Authentic local fare with other classic dishes are prepared to perfection at a more than reasonable cost. We sampled many of the offerings while dining there three times. We were impressed with everything we ordered from soup to desert. The Goulash is of a particularly high quality and should not be missed. The out door terrace provided a perfect place to have a dinner at sunset after a hot day seeing the sights of Salzburg. Inga, Silvia and chef Robert are brilliant hosts who made us feel very well looked after and very welcome. I felt the room rate was reasonable. There was plenty of free parking. The hotel is within steps of a main line bus stop. I would stay here again.

Room Tip: Spend the extra money for a room with a balcony.

We stayed 2 nights at this excellent hotel. Everyone was friendly and helpful, speaking very good English. Our rooms were comfortable and spacious with nice outlook over meadows and mountains. Yes, there are some noisy vehicles using the adjacent local road, but we travel with ear plugs, so no problem. It is an easy drive to the centre of Salzburg and plenty of parking in the large parking garages built into the mountain and then a short walk into history (or The Sound of Music if that's why you are in Salzburg). The hotel price included breakfast and overall was excellent value for money. It is worth eating in at the hotel restaurant for one night - good food.

Location: Cozy, welcoming guesthouse in a residential area outside centre of Salzburg. Within walking distance of the #21 Tram that takes you straight to all the main tourist sights, but we opted to drive our car in a bit closer and utilize the very handy parking lots that are conveniently scattered throughout the city.

Room: stayed in a family room for 5. A double in one room, a single bed in a the second room, plus a pullout sofa bed for 2 more in a third. Peaceful location that looked onto a pasture of horses. Impeccably clean rooms with plentiful storage, televisions and renovated modern bathrooms. Shampoo and soap was provided. Good water pressure. We were surprised that the shampoo packets and the towels were not replenished for all 5 of us daily. Small but important detail that became really inconvenient because we discovered the missing items when we were well into our showers. Ventilation in bathroom was not great, so it was uncomfortable with the door closed.

Climate Control: I admit that having air conditioning wasn't a priority when I booked the hotel but it was unseasonably hot when I visited. The hotel unfortunately had no air con and only one fan for our 3 sleeping rooms. We opened all the windows, which not only was inadequate in cooling down the rooms, but also led to us being bitten up by mosquitoes.

Amenities: Safe for valuables. Free wifi. No alarm clock. Kitchenette area and lovely table where we could sit and play cards. Very efficient laundry service available.

Breakfast: Included in the nightly rate was a continental breakfast of breads, meats, cheese, yogurt, and fruits, with the lovely addition of cooked to order eggs. Breakfast staff was very pleasant, as well as efficient.

I am sorry to say that because the sleeping was so unpleasant, I could not see myself booking again, which is most unfortunate because they do a very fine job all around. Perhaps in the winter.

We rented four rooms here to accommodate 2 couples and 2 families. From the minute we walked in to the reception desk to when we left five nights later we met with nothing but friendly, helpful and courteous service. The breakfast and evening meals were delicious with plenty of choices. The rooms were clean, spacious and ours even had a mountain outside the window. It was a ten minute bus ride into downtown Salzburg or we could take the car. Our hosts suggested a variety of events, concerts and tours that we could attend and even arranged the purchase of tickets for us. Without doubt it was the best accommodation we stayed at on our Austrian adventure.
