Alsadt, the fort and all the by-lanes around are beautiful. We were there on New Years eve and the concert and the fire work display was fun.

Took a one day tour with Radius Tours. Our tour guide was Maxine, she educated us all about Salzburg on the train ride there for two hours and had pictures with her to show also. l was very informed prior to arriving. Once there she brought us into the center and gave us a 1 1/2 guided orientation tour, after that we had our own free time to roam around and see the things she pointed out. Thanks Maxine for making the tour an enjoyable one.

Really interesting. One of the rooms has the original furniture. Another has the "piano" Mozart played. Lots of stairs but worth the climb. Very cheerful area.
This house faces a square where we sat at an outdoor cafe to have lunch. It was really nice to be there facing the house in which Mozart lived.

I don't like window shopping, so this place didn't really interest me. That being said, I still recommend it as there's plenty to see (if you look hard). Make sure you have your walking shoes on though, since you'll have to do quite a bit of walking to thoroughly explore the whole place.

It's also helpful to have a map with you if you're the type that easily gets lost, since the Old Town resembles a maze. Make sure you remember the number labelled on the tunnel from which you enter the main area, and you should be fine.

Lastly, always be wary of pickpockets since the place can get quite crowded.
