“Wonderful old town”
Reviewed April 21, 2013

I love the old town in Salzburg. small picturesque streets, nice cafes,...I have lived there for 2 years I have loved it.
It s lovely every time of the day. My favorite : about 1 or 2 o'clock at night when the streets are really empty

“Very relaxing place, unexpected for such a popular city”
Reviewed April 21, 2013

Every morning and evening was free of crowds, with crispy air, and little or no noises. This was April, probably a shoulder season. Midday can be skipped by walking in the forest above the town. There are two lifts (one goes to museum of modern art, and another to the castle). Modern art lift connects to a system of trails above town.

“Historic town”
Reviewed April 21, 2013

Well worth a visit if you're visiting Austria. The old town is very, very clean and beautifully looked after. The shops are boutique style and far too expensive, but the architecture is wonderful and the fortress is well worth a trip. There was a fair bit of building work going on when we were there but I guess a city doesn't get to look that pristine without a heck of a lot of work being done to keep it that way. The main shopping street had quite a few beggars, but I guess you get this in every city. The best views are from Hohensalzburg fortress high on its hill, with spectacular views across the whole city and across to the Alps.

“beautiful”
Reviewed April 20, 2013

I have been here about 3 times, all being in the winter. it is a magical little town with beautiful views of the channel! I reccomend taking your significant other to the bridge of locks towards the end of downtown. it is so romantic, same idea as the bridge in paris, you and your lover write your names and attatch it to the bridge. Also, the architecture around this perfect town is stunning! I took about 100 pics :)
