Great lunch spot with ample seating outdoors. Famous for its pizzas which surely must be the most gigantic italian pizzas on the planet. And they are good too! So too are the pasta dishes, which are very reasonable priced. A good italian restaurant this, professional service and not expensive. And the gigantic pizzas! It don't come much better than that.

I had some yummy pasta (orecchiette noodles with sausage and arugula)! My niece had BBQ chicken pizza and my son had spinach egg pizza! Good food! We sat outside and people watched!

When we were outside, the pizzas looked amazing. The outside seating was quite full and since the weather was lovely we wanted to sit outside but when we went to ask for our table we got quite a shock. We were celebrating our mothers 60th birthday and had heard a lot about the food here. The lady at the front was so rude it was terrible. Even though we were there for a very special occasion, she refused to be accommodating. She insisted that if we wanted to sit outside, she would give us one table at one end and the other at the other end. We even offered to occupy one table first and then the next one as soon as it was empty but she flatly refused saying that she will ONLY give us one table on one side and the other at the other end. We found this quite odd but not wanting to ruin the mood we agreed to sit inside.

The server was not any better. I am quite a strict vegetarian and do not eat eggs. She informed us that the pizza bread had eggs so we couldnt eat that. Nor could we eat the pasta (but that was quite expected and usual). The only thing she said we could eat was the risotto. When we ordered that and it was served, all we could taste was salt. It was absolutely horrible. When we complained the server said that it is always salty. She said she would talk to the chef to put less salt but she wasnt sure if it was possible. I found it very difficult to understand this statement and sure enough when the "new" dish was served it was almost the same. We had to get up and leave the restaurant hungry!!!

One of my worst restaurant experiences ever!!

Ciao Ayush, thanks for your feedback! We're very sorry you and your family did not enjoy your visit at L'Osteria. You're right: There is no reason for us to be rude when you ask to sit outside. We should have been more firendly indeed. Please accept our apology! But please understand: It's not quite easy to find room for a large group of people, when the restaurant is full. A reservation - especially for a important occasion - is always helpful. As to dishes without eggs, there are lots of other choices: Bruschetta, Insalata Mista, Spaghetti rucola pomodorini, Spaghetti pomodoro e basilico (it's made with cheese), Penne Arrabiata, Gnocchi Caprese (it's made with cheese) and sorbet for dessert. Sorry that the risotto was too salty! We'll definately look into the recipe. If you'll give us a second chance, we're happy to welcome you again at L'Osteria! Kind regards, your L'Osteria Team

Recommended by our hotel we stop in to grab a bite and watch Euro. Was extremely busy but service was prompt and we were seated within 5 minutes. We ordered two different half pizzas (they are huge). Both were very good and cooked to perfection. We ended with dessert and coffees. Overall a good choice and recommended stop.

We ate at L'Isteria twice while in Salzburg, and I've never had better pizza. The crust was amazing! The service is slow, but Europe is more "laid-back" than the US and they take their time to enjoy a meal. Also, they are always crowded ... which should give a clue to the quality of the food.
