“One night stayed only”
Reviewed September 4, 2013

We stayed for 4 nights, but that was 3 nights too many.
Lets start with the things they can't change,
It is on a very busy crossroads, lots of traffic noise day and night. It has 20 odd rooms and only 5 parking spaces, 2 of which are on what we call in the UK THE FOOTPATH.
The 15 mins walk into town is a good 30 mins.
Now for the things they could change.
Rude staff who like to shout at you, if you stray from the rule book. The breakfast which has to be seen to be believed a basket of bread with various spreads. The WiFi in the room is the poorest ive ever had.
If you want 1 nights accommodation at a budget price and don't need to sleep a lot, and like bread this will be the place.
My advice would be to spend a little more and stop somewhere a lot nicer.

We were originally planning on staying three nights in Munich, so when we decided to only stay two, it meant we needed to change our reservation for the next stop on the trip. I contacted Pension Elisabeth by email and asked if we could change our reservation to the night before, and this was not a problem. The type of room we had reserved wouldn't be available, so we had to go for one that was a bit more expensive, but on the other hand, we upgraded to one with a private toilet, which was a good idea anyway, as other rooms only had communal corridor toilets.

There are only three parking spaces unless you want to basically pull up on the pavement, as close to the building as possible. Lucky for us, there was a free space!

We got a room at the top of the building (no lift/elevator), so great view of the mountains. Surprisingly for a small guest house, there were key cards like you'd get in a big hotel.

You can walk from the hotel and in to the train station, if you want to use one of the sightseeing buses. We decided to walk there, as we had failed to find a parking spot on the way to the guesthouse (we thought we'd check out the town first, being a bit early) and the bus system seemed a little too complicated, despite the reception doing their best to explain it (they also offered to buy any unused tickets off us).

There's a Norma supermarket nearby.

The noise from the road outside was cut dramatically when shutting the window. The parquet floor was really creaky when walking on it at night, but hopefully we didn't disturb the people in the room below.

Breakfast was, as the welcome folder stated, catering for the price-conscious guest and not that of a big hotel, but we found it perfectly adequate. We could help ourselves to beverages and were brought a bread-basket (three Semmel-rolls, one seeded roll and one seeded mini-baguette) and each got a plate of spreads (butter, honey, fruit compote, Nutella, soft cheese, meat paté). Plenty to fill us up, and very tasty it was too.

Very nice small hotel, stayed two nights in June. About 30min walk to town, but only 10 from train station which was good for us. Staff very helpful and the place was clean.

We had a double room with private showed and breakfast included. There is a supermarket just across the street.

The place is extremely neat and cheap for the location. It is easy to find with car or public transport. They only have 5 parking spots and they are not paid extra so make sure to ask in advance. A shop and a bus stop are right next to the hotel. Breakfast is included and pretty decent. In the room without private shower there is a sink and mirror.

Me and my friend had a small, but cosy room (with private shower) with a lovely streetview. The room had a tv set, too. There's also a wardrobe with shelves and hangers and plenty storage space.

The staff is extremely nice. They are helpful and glad to provide you with any information you may need. At reception you can find a lot of brochures, maps and you can also ask for the wifi password or use the community computer.

It is a very clean place. You get fresh towels every day and there's a sanitary liquid dispenser in the restroom.

Breakfast is plenty, but it is not a buffet! However, you can ask for anything from yoghurt to cold cuts for 1 euro only.

The pension is only 10 minutes from the railway station on foot! There's a bus stop right on the opposite corner that takes you to the city centre. There's a supermarket and a bike shop, too, nearby.

If you want to check out in the morning, but leave Salzburg only later, you can leave your luggage at reception. Remember to notify the staff though, as reception is closed between 12 pm and 4 pm on Sunday! So, if your train leaves at, let's say 3 pm, you should take your luggage to the train station and put it in a locker there.

If you are like me, that is don't want to spend a lot of money on accomodation as you spend most of your time exploring, yet you expect a clean place and a friendly staff who's glad to serve you, this is the place to stay at.

I picked this hotel based on TA reviews
And it fit my budget
The hotel was good
Not too close to the downtown , but easily accessible by bus - which kinda winds down later in the evening
The staff very friendly and nice
Breakfast is good - not great, but a good spread
My only complaint is that the room was a smoking room - they didn't tell me about it when booking
But then again, I should have asked
Other than that - no complaints
