“Impressive Fountains, but glad we had the Salzburg Card”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2013

The tour was pretty fun and the grounds were very nice, but I wouldn't want to pay a lot for the visit. We had the Salzburg Card for 2 days and it was definitely worth it.
The lengths to which the original creators of the water features went were quite impressive,

“Probably the best attraction just outside Salzburg”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2013

Go on a warm or hot day and be prepared for a splash! The trick water gardens are great fun and one can marvel at many technical ingenuities. Our guide was enthusiastic and also spoke good English. He can let the young have all the splashing water fun and let the oldies off with just a light spray of water. The bishop's sense of fun is quite contagious. The 10 Euro ticket also includes the palace which is of great historical interest and the portable guides are first class in quality and content with a choice of languages.
Afterwards one can walk in the public adjoining gardens and visit an efficient and not over expensive restaurant. Take the 25 bus for the journey.

“Great surprise and fun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2013

Cheekiness of guides was a complete joy.
Nothing bad here. Make sure you have time to wander the extensive gardens afterward and take stale brown bread to feed the huge carp. Wonderful experience.
Great playground for kids at rear. Take a walk through the ice cold cure water bath for feet also!

“Interesting for young and old...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2013

We spent an afternoon at the Castle which included the Trick Fountains, the audio guided tour of the Castle, wandering the grounds and the kids played at the impressive kids park....everything was excellent!

Trick Fountains were very interesting and impressive; incredible to think they were designed 400 years ago! Although the water does catch you by surprise, we didn't get very wet at all....

Audio-guided tour of the castle: we've done museums and castle's where the kids are bored 10min into it, but this castle is small enough, with enough interesting exhibits that the kids were engaged the entire time! Lots of interesting stories, paintings and things to see....highly recommend the audioguide!

“Good fun”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2013

Used Saltzburg card to travel, on bus, to gardens and Palace, 3 day card is v good value. Very amusing tour round trick fountain garden as long as you have a sense of humour too and don't mind getting a bit wet! Need to keep camera dry as fountains are not obvious.
