Me and my wife were at the Wolf last November. The hotel is very good located and we found the price fair for the accommodation they offered us. The breakfast was above average and the owner and the staff were very helpful and friendly. But be careful with the owner's wife. To be honest, we are not sure if she is really his wife cause she is much more older than he. We are just supposing it because she showed some ascendance over him and we didn't dare to ask, given her mood. Anyway, she didn't showed the same friendship. She was almost rude. May be we just caught her in a bad day, but nevertheless if you have to ask something better do it to the rest of the hotel people.
The room was always very clean, like all the other hotel parts. The only thing that was not good was the shower door, we have to put a towel at the bottom in order not to have a flood in the room.
Nevertheless, we recommend the Wolf, nice hotel for a very good price and Salzburg, well, it's a fairy tale city!

We paid half the price of our hotels in Munich and Zurich for this terrific little hotel in the heart of Salzburg's old town. Our room was a mix of old and charming (stone archways) and modernized decor and bathroom. The breakfast room was very charming, and the breakfast was terrific. No one is at the desk overnights, so give your wake up call early, but the staff was very friendly and helpful. Give a $20 deposit for a parking permit and ask for directions to the free parking. There were no other cars, so we parked for free for two days. The rooms facing the street can be noisy, but this was a charming hotel that was an outstanding value for this wonderful location.

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Wolf for the last three nights of a 2-week European adventure. The hotel was a quick ride from the train station (cost about 7 Euros). The check-in was easy and the receptionist friendly. Our room (32) was clean and served our needs. I will say it was a strange room. The walls in the bathroom were either mirrored or hazy glass. The beds were two twin beds (not really pushed together to make one) so we rolled apart as we slept at night. The breakfast was delicious, filling and plentiful. The hotel staff helped us find our train to Zurich. The Hotel is near many restaurants, and steps away from an Internet Cafe as well as Motzart's statue. We found it met our needs well!

We have stayed at the Hotel Wolf twice, and enjoy it immensely. It is very reasonably priced for Salzburg. Obviously is can not compete with the top end hotels, but for being economical, it is extremely clean, and very charming with a wonderful buffet breakfast to boot. What is wonderful is the fantastc location in the middle of old town. And be sure to check out Cafe Glockenspiel across the way, a true and enjoyable European experience. The coffee drinks and pastries are excellent.

We stayed here in December before Christmas 2005, in the very spacious family room with our two children aged 14 and 10. The room was huge, with everything you need, and the ensuite lovely. Everywhere was clean, and we had to drag the kids away from the breakfast room each day, there was such a great selection!
The staff were all very helpful and friendly. We loved the position of the hotel, so central but very quiet.
It is somewhere we would love to stay again, and if you want the family room it is perfect. The lead up to Christmas was a magical time, lots of snow, Christmas trees everywhere, ice skating, Christmas markets. I think it is the best time to visit.
