First of all, the rooms in this hotel were just gorgeous. Each is unique with lots of character. The bathroom is my only complaint about the room because there is a glass door that is only partially frosted, so there is very little privacy.
The location can't be beat. Salzburg is a very compact city in the first place, but this hotel was right in the heart of all the beautiful historic streets and plazas. There is a lovely restaurant and bar on the same street as the hotel (Goldener Ente).
The service at the hotel is my only complaint. We went to check in at about 11am. The room was not ready, which is fine. The front desk attendant told us to come back at 3pm. We told him that our check in time is supposed to be at noon. I showed him the confirmation email which I printed that said check in time at noon, and he insisted that I typed this up myself, as though I were lying. I found this to be offensive and said this is what I was emailed when I made the reservation! He had the room ready for noon when I finally convinced him I was not making it up. For the rest of the trip the service was good, but I did think I should mention this brief incident.
I highly recommend this hotel for the beautiful rooms and the location!More
