My wife, daughter and I really enjoyed our stay at the Cityhotel Trumer Stube. The location provided a short walk to all the great sights. Vivienne and all the hotel staff were very nice and very helpful. Our family room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was wonderful! One piece of advice is to use the driving directions provided by the hotel instead of trusting your car's navigation system because many roads were under construction and turns could not be made, etc. Parking in a nearby garage was very convenient. We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: We had room 45 which was very comfortable for 3 adults. It overlooks the street which has a lot of c...

This was our first stay at CityHotel Trumer Stube--and I certainly hope it won't be our last! Our group was enchanted by the friendliness of our hosts and the beauty and grace of our accommodations. New owner/operator Vivienne and her team have transformed a quiet venue into a destination in itself which exudes personality and charm in the same way the Salzburg Altstadt itself does.
The location is ideal--on a quiet street within walking distance of the Hauptbahnhof, and in EASY walking distance of practically everything else (a block from the river/bridge, and a couple of blocks from the Landestheater and Mirabell Palace). (If you like classical music/lieder, you'll be interested to note that the hotel is next door to a building where composer Hugo Wolf lived/worked.)
The rooms are gracefully remodeled, tastefully appointed, and meticulously maintained--and very comfortable and quiet. The breakfast is plentiful, attractively presented, and graciously served in a charming room on the ground floor. Staff members are attentive, kind, and speak English fluently (important for those of us who can barely sneeze in German).
In fact, it's hard to find anything to complain about with regard to this establishment. If you're looking to make a stay in this charming town even more memorable, book rooms here. (But do it early, as I have an idea this place won't stay a secret for long...)

Great location -- easy walk to river bank and central Salzburg. Clean and comfortable rooms. Vivian, the owner, is very friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast spread. Would definitely stay here again! We had a large group of students with us and all loved it.

We had a room with 2 double beds, which was plenty of space for our family of four. Location was great, a short 2 block walk from a busy bus stop so convenient to get around. Also, a short walk across the river from old town with shopping and Mozart's birthplace. The woman at the desk was very nice but we had asked for information several times and had many false responses (ie "all restaraunts are closed this Sunday morning" - not true). We did not pay for the breakfast which looked like very slim selection at a fairly high price. We wandered and found an open cafe with very nice breakfast. Decor was a bit outdated, but not a concern to us. We would definitely return for the price.

Stayed mid summer. No air conditioning, and as we were in a room at the back, opening the window meant having the nearby churchbells ringing in our ears quite early in the morning. On a one way street, and the parking is in a municipal garage a ten to fifteen minute walk away. There is a tiny elevator. Breakfast is typical for euro B&Bs. Room was small with a nice shower in the bath. Within walking distance to many restaurants and shopping. Owners can sell tickets to the fortress concerts.

The Trumer Stube is well located in the heart of Salzburg and near all the sites. A short walk from Mirabel Gardens, you are also close to many great restaurants. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The bathroom is also a good size (in comparison with some other European hotels - a comment for the American traveler!).

Of special note, however, is the service and friendliness of the staff. Vivienne and her staff go the extra mile (kilometer?) to make your stay special and comfortable. I also suggest taking advantage of the optional breakfast. Though there are many spots nearby where you can grab a croissant and coffee, you get a good price at the Trumer-Stube and the convenience of getting the breakfast right near your room.

We stayed here on a holiday with our teenage daughter.

Room Tip: The street nightlife on Bergstrasse can get a little noisy at night, close your windows and go with...
