We had a wonderful 4 night stay. Staff were often exceptionally helpful (allowing us to check in 4 hours early, showing us how to use their infrared room in the spa when one of us had a bad back). Breakfast was good, DVD selection was excellent, afternoon tea was a nice touch. All round an excellent hotel that we have already recommended to others. We were particularly impressed that they wrote to us at home in the uk within a week thanking us for filling out their hotel questionnaire, an absolute first for me!

This hotel is very nice and in a good location. If you need conditioner or moisturizer, bring your own. The room and bathroom were very clean and the breakfast was good.

One thing: the hotel has a deal with Panorama Tours and if you want to do tours with another company, they won't book them for you. My advice is that if you want to do tours with other companies, book them before you get to Salzburg. The hotel charges for local phone calls so we got charged when we did our own booking.

My fiance and I stayed at the Hotel Wolf-Dietrich in August this year. We usually stay at the Hotel Bristol but they did not have availability on this occasion and as I had read some good reviews about the Hotel Wolf-Dietrich we decided to book here instead. We were not disappointed!

The Hotel is conveniently located. We arrived late on our first evening but received an excellent recommendation from the Hotel; in relation to a local restaurant Alt Fuchs for a late bite to eat.

Our room was spacious and clean. Free DVDs are available to borrow from reception (although we did not take up the offer). Complimentary afternoon tea is also served.

There is a good breakfast selection.

The highlights for us however were the pool and sauna which we used each day and the really friendly staff. We heard the young lady working in the Bar singing as she worked and it was a joy to meet someone with such enthusiasm.

We have recommended this as an alternative hotel for some of our wedding guests later this year and would happily stay again ourselves. We had a great time in Salzburg and a great time at this Hotel!

My wife and I took our parents on a retirement trip in early September and chose Hotel Wolf-Dietrich based on its' Tripadvisor rating, and good rates. We had a long train ride from Paris and the instant we got there, the staff jumped in and helped my elderly mother with her bags and starting pampering. The four days we were there they literally fell over themselves helping us - dinner reservations, taxis, places to see, etc. - all with smiles and happy attitudes! They even put up with my rusty German and gave me some language tutorials. The rooms ARE nice, but not extravagant, but I would return gladly just for the service. I am in the hotel industry and tend to be jaded about service, but we have absolutely NOTHING to pick about. The Front Office Manager and F&B Manager/Bartender/Evening Service Manager Jaime were in particular experts in the art of hospitality! Hanging out on their quiet, outdoor patio area was one of the most serene and peaceful things we did on our trip. Oh, and don't forget to bring a swimsuit as it has a wonderful indoor pool and sauna area.

Room Tip: The Residence portion - across the street - is newer/less noisy if you don't mind walking across the street for breakfast.

We stayed two nights in the Wolf-Dietrich hotel in the Papagena suite, which was on the third floor. We were pretty excited to find out that we would be staying in a suite, but when we stepped off the elevator and saw an enormous cutout of the Papagena character on the door, we were slightly alarmed. Little did we know it was only the beginning. The room was basically divided into a living room and sleeping room, with a walk-in closet in the sleeping room which led to the half-bath (toilet and sink only). Adjacent to the living room was the actual bathroom, with an old-school bathtub and full sink. The room was elaborately decorated like a tropical forest, with parrots in both the full bath and at the end of the bed. There were fancy lighting systems installed, leading us to joke that this suite was something of a ... well, to be polite, something for more adventurous couples...

However, none of this was to be held against the hotel. It just seemed like an overzealous effort at the theme. It was a little weird, but somewhat charming. And in the context of the rest of the hotel, which included a good breakfast buffet, afternoon cakes, teas, and coffees, and a wide assortment of DVDs to be lent freely to hotel patrons, the stay was very pleasant. The location was accessible and the staff friendly.

Recommended.
