Very close (easily walkable) to Hauptbahnhof, so very handy for arrivals / departures by train and also good for buses to the airport. Good, free wifi and a decent included breakfast, with plenty of choice. The (single) room and shower were small, but warm and clean. It is a very easy walk into town. If you are looking for a way to save money there's no need to pay more for a hotel in the Aldstadt as Salzburg is small enough to do on foot from the Lasserhof. Of the 3 receptionists I met, all were efficient and only one needed a little time at the charm school, the other two were politeness itself.

The hotel is perfect for a few days, a weekend break or so, but perhaps not suitable for a long stay. There was a bit of noise apparent when others are coming and going and moving around in their adjacent rooms, but not too excessive.

Room Tip: The area seemed reasonably quiet, but I had a room at the back so was away from the road, which never seemed to busy anyway.

We stopped in Salzburg for only one night, and needed a place that was conveniently located to the train station. It was about a 10-15 minute walk from the train station. On their website (http://www.lasserhof.com/lhen/), they recommend walking via Humboldstrasses, but you can walk via Gabelsbergerstrasse (even though they were during construction back in Nov) via a pedestrian walkway. I would recommend this to save yourself a few minutes walking.

We had a spacious room for 3, with a separate water closet and shower/tub with a lovely towel warmer. The room itself had 2 twin beds and a pull-out sofa bed with a flat screen tv and multiple English channels (a highlight when you rarely get the BBC channel at hotels). Wifi was a bit of a disppointment with a weak signal and slow in speed. However, there was supposed to be a free computer to use with internet access, which we never did... The room was lovely with skylights. However, this may have made for a more chillier temperature in our room at night, and the heating was not adjustable at all in our room. Our nice warm down comforters did luckily make up for this. The staff at the front desk was also very nice and courteous when we checked in and out. For checking in, we actually arrived earlier then check-in time, and they were kind enough to let us check in early into our rooms which was great for freshening up before our scheduled 1 pm tour. They also were very helpful with recommendations for places to eat, as well as with checkout and storing our luggage. Couldn't have asked more in terms of customer service.

The location of the hotel is around 10 to 15 minutes walk from the train station. As the roads were icy with snow, hence it took us a longer time. For the price that I paid, I find it reasonable. Clean room and sufficient space. Compared to another hotel that I had stayed, this hotel was further to the train station, but cost 20€ less per night, I would give my vote to this hotel.

During a recent trip to Austria, we stopped in Salzberg and stayed at the Lasserhof Hotel. It was a little bit of a walk from the train station (maybe 15 minutes with luggage), but that should not deter you from staying here as the hotel is quaint, clean, and a good deal.

The room was spacious for three of us and the beds were very comfortable. The room we were in was on the top floor so we could look up to see the sky which was a nice perk.

The breakfast they provide was tasty and filling, the staff was extremely helpful, and I would recommend staying here if you're ever in Salzberg.

Room Tip: We stayed on the top floor where the room had a vaulted ceiling making it seem very spacious.
