Modest hotel in central Salzburg, good location easily walkable to the old city, good breakfast although there was an extra fee for taking, i.e. an apple up to one's room...small rooms and the shower left something to be desired. There was an extra fee too for using air conditioning...

Internet service was available but very unpredictable.

Staff was very helpful...

Good location, very generous size rooms & good breakfast. It's proximity to restaurant Die Weisse; make this hotel even more tempting to stay. Service was good too. A perfectly safe bet for tourists wishing to be in walking distance of old town Salzburg.

Room Tip: The newly renovated rooms at the very end of the hotel are very good.

It is situated only a pleasant 5 minute walk away from the "Old Town". The bus from the airport stops about 100 m away. There are plenty of good restaurants and cafes nearby, catering for locals as well as tourists. There are supermarkets close to the hotel. The staff was very helpful and spoke good English. Our room was clean and adequate. Air-con and parking would cost you extra. Breakfast was satisfactory.

Room Tip: Room 305 is double-aspected, gets plenty of light. You can keep your windows open all night and thu...

Stayed at this hotel early May this year for 3 nights. The hotel is old and dated but reasonably clean and in a good location, we walked everywhere, found the people in reception very helpful and obliging. Our room was not large, had 2 single beds pushed together and the sheets were never changed during our stay. The shower was hand held only and no toiletries in the bathroom. Towels paper thin but they were changed everyday. Room very spartan but comfortable. Breakfast plentiful. Plenty of cafes and restaurants in the vicinity. No tea of coffee making facilities in the room but you could get boiling water from an urn by the entrance in a small plastic cup but had to provide own coffee-tea. Most definitely not a 4 star hotel but pleasant enough and close to everything of interest in the beautiful city of Salzburg.

Selected this hotel as it seemed good value for money in a good location. This was correct as it is situated on one of the roads leading to the river and then over the bridge into the fantastic city of Salzburg. When we arrived early for our check-in the gentleman on reception was really helpful. We put our bags into the storage room and then went along the road to get a snack and drink. Before we went out I mentioned to man that we would like to get tickets for one of the music concerts at the castle. On our return he had booked tickets for the following night with none of the usual exorbitant mark-up you get in Britain. The family room we had booked was very spacious with a double bedroom and a large lounge that was also the sleeping area for my son. He had a double bed and there was also a kitchen area with a sink, fridge cooking facilities and small table etc. We did not use any of these as we ate out for the duration of our stay. Bathroom was small and rather dated, in fact the decor and furniture/furnishings were of a good standard but were old and past their best. Slept really well and winows looked out onto the patio area at the rear of the hotel and also some offices which were not occupied on the weekend we stayed. Breakfast was served in a small room just off the entrance foyer. It was really good quality and as it was self service you could eat as much as you wanted from a large selection of cooked and cold food. There was a well stocked bar next to the check -in desk and the receptionist would usually double-up to serve drinks. It was quiet and people did not seem to use it often so there was no atmosphere. We used it some evenings before going out for a refreshing pre meal drink and also usually had a last drink before bed on our return. We ate out for all of the rest of our meals and found some excellent restaurants and cafes on the road going into Salzburg as well as the ones in the centre. Hotel was fine as we only used it as a base and did not spend any significant amount of time there.

Just returned from a wonderful trip to Salzburg and stayed here for 3 nights. Three of us travelled together and we were given a big room with double bedroom, as well as a living area which had a double bed in, along with a table, fridge and TV - 345 euros for the three of us including breakfast. We arrived in Salzburg by train and I would suggest getting a taxi to the hotel, it costs about 7 euros. We arrived a few hours before check in but were allowed to leave our bags. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel itself is only a short walk into the main part of town - once you get your bearings Salzburg is an easy place to get around, nothing is too far away. Breakfast was good with cereal, cold meats, bacon, scrambled egg, breads, yogurt, fruit etc. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would consider staying here again if I returned to Salzburg - that is a strong possibility as it's a beautiful place!

We stayed there for 2 nights. Arrived at 10am at the train station. Walked as per map for 10 minutes with luggage and finally took a 2 minutes taxi ride to the hotel. I would recomend taking a taxi from train station and you should be @ hotel in 3 minute /approx 10 Eur). Walk to Hauptbahnhof /station is roughly 15-17 minutes without luggage. Walk to old town would be 10-12 minutes.

The Hotel is a bit old / not so modern, but rooms were huge and spacious. Reception staff seemed uninterested (read not so cheerful / welcoming) but just short of being rude. We had 2 connected rooms and a huge bath room with tub. All the fittings were old style but functional except we the tub could not be filled up with water (unless using the shower to fill it up).

Just across the street was grocery and convenience store.

I would recommend visitors go and see tourist info office at Salzburg Hbf as they are very helpful in there. One should take a 24 hour day ticket (Eur 4.5 pp) and get a bus/tram map. This way one can get to the Hotel / Old town without much waking.

We could have combined our trip to Hallein salt mines and zell am see (on same day) to save time. Instead we took the Salt ticket to visit salt mines (train, bus and entrance).

Breakfast was very good buffet spread. Thus a good stay for 2 nights, if we had got bus/tram day tickets done earlier - we could have avoided some walking. Make sure to first enquire after arriving at the Salzburg Hbf tourist information counteras they are happy to provide help/guidance.
