“Great little hotel”
Reviewed June 13, 2011

We stayed at this hotel for 4 days on a month long trip through Switzerland and Austria. It is located in the new town but very well situated only a few blocks from Mirabelle Palace and gardens. Many enjoyable and reasonable restaurants are within a short walking distance, and the hotel staff is very helpful in recommending something that you are looking for. The hotel is very upscale and has great features for a small hotel.

We will definitely go back when we are in Salzburg!

My finance and I stayed for four nights, and we had a fantastic experience. The rooms were huge and clean with hardwood floors. Exactly as pictured. The front desk staff were wonderful. They spoke English well and had maps and brochures for every attraction. They didn't try to sell us any tours or promos, just had lots of good information. They even helped us figure out how to take a bus (the 150) up to the lake district for the day and let us borrow silverware to take on a picnic.

I was in Europe for just over three weeks, taking a class for my masters and traveling, and of five hotels I stayed at, this was by far the best. Two small considerations: the free WiFi in the lobby was not the most consistent, and we preferred several of the cafes down the street to the hotel's breakfast, which the wonderful front desk staff directed us to when we asked. Just a great experience all around, would love to go back.

Room Tip: Room 103 has a balcony overlooking Franz-Josef st.

We booked this on the recommendation of a friend and were not dissapointed. We loved our 3 night stay here. The room was a good size and very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and great value. Free internet in the lobby and the staff were outstanding.
The location was good, we walked everywhere. We were handed a list of recommended restaurants, maps and other info on arrival which was very useful. We tried 3 of the recommended restaurants and were happy with all of them. Excellent hotel.

This little gem is a short walk from everything. The rooms basic but comfortable - loved the duvets! In typical European style one has to be inventive with suitcase placement in the room- LOL The breakfast room was terrific with everything on offer being fresh, well presented and certainly gives you a great start for your day. The front desk staff was genuinely interested in ensuring you have the best stay possible. Without asking we were given maps, local area info and access to further help if needed. Apologies abound at one time when the internet was down (through no fault of the hotel) . A hotel in this price point with this exceptional service is truly a find.

We stayed one night here and I had requested a room with a mountain view, if possible which they gave us. Our room (#506) was spacious with windows on 2 sides so it was nice and bright. The bathroom was also very nice and spacious. They do not give any shampoo or creams, so please carry.
The furniture is dated but very well kept and endearing. The breakfast was wonderful value for only 5 euros per person.
The receptionist was extremely helpful and his suggestions for places to eat were good. The location is a 10 minute walk from the old town and the shopping street; about 15 minutes to the cable car taking you to the fortress. Great shopping and old town of Salzburg- one day was too short!

The staff at the hotel Mozart are very welcoming and friendly. They went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed our stay by booking tours, giving maps and directions of the town (without being asked), asking what we had done that day/evening and if we enjoyed it. I can't praise them enough. The room was cleaned effectively and efficiently, again by very charming staff. The breakfast is very varied and plentiful and waiting staff, traditionally dressed, keep the coffee flowing.

There are plenty of good restaurants and bars nearby, again with friendly welcoming staff. The town is within walking distance (10-15mins).

On the downside, the street was noisey on occasion at night. We were lucky to have very good weather, but needed the windows open so let the noise in.

I would recommend this hotel to my family and friends in the knowledge that they will be well taken care of.

1. the room is clean and comfortable
2. Breakfast, there was no free breakfast but you can buy breakfast at the hotel
3. the location is ok not very closed to the Salzburg Fortress and Getreidegasse shopping street but we can catch the tram or bus. It took 5-10 minutes to the stop and 5 minutes to the highlilght spots. By the way, we can also walk within 15-20 minutes.
4. the staff especially, the front desk is professional, friendly, and helpful for all tourist to explore the city.
