The meal before the show was only average, certainly not worth the money we paid for it. Everyone had to rush desert to catch the show which started at 8:30 sharp. Nearly 10 euro for two cheap tasting glasses of red wine. The singing was ok, but seemed amateurish and not worth the EUR49 charge. We agree with an earlier reviewer that this one is a bit of a tourist trap and there is better value elsewhere.

My good lady and I are ardent The Sound of Music followers; we know the songs, superbly composed and written by Rogers & Hammerstein, to the tee. And, for any company other than the original cast, to reproduce the sounds of the music, is a mammoth task! Exceptionally well done by the cast of great singers and pianist of the Sound of Salzburg Dinner Show on the 3rd of June 2013.

The doors to the quaint dinner-theatre opens at 7pm and we made sure to be the first there. We didnt want to miss anything! One is welcomed by personnel neatly dressed in traditional dress and a complimentary drink. Dinner is served at one's table and we opted for a delicious 3 course meal (there are other options available as well, such as the deluxe 4 course meal). While we were enjoying the flavours of Austria, the show's pianist provided lovely background piano music, setting the scene for a fabulous evening.

The show itself started at about 20:30 and was a 2 hour presentation filled to the brim with music and song from the famous 1965 movie and also excellent renditions of various operettas and other excerpts of Salzburg’s musical past, including some folklore where members of the audience, including yours truly, were elegantly ushered up onto the stage to assist the cast with some fun numbers, which, yours truly as a serious and accomplished amateur veteran of the stage, managed to muck up in grandeur style!

All in all, a wonderful and most memorable evening, one which my wife asnd I will cherish for many years to come. To some it may border on "corny", but we were truly enchanted by the voices and musical talent of the singers and pianist. Well done! May it reign and enchant patrons for many more years!

We had a lovely evening with great entertainment.
The food was not the most exciting food we had in Salzburg.
On the other hand the show was very cozy with some very talented singers.

This is one of the most amateur, over-priced tourist traps out there. The room was uncomfortable, the service terrible, food average but luke-warm and we had all finished by the time one person at our table had even been served. The show was positively amateur, good signing but much better to have a sing-along with the film. I would really advise against doing this very naff activity.

Five entertainers, 1 lad on piano excellent, 2 girls and 2 fellows who are great singers and dancers. They get the crowd going an encourage you to join in with the singing and dancing.

We had booked the dinner and show package, but if I was going again I would just book the show. The food was only average and there was not much atmospher while having dinner. The piano was played occossainaly.
