“Worth the climb”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2013

Steep way up the stairs, especially hard on a hot day, but worth the climb when you get there for the view over town from the other side. Don't forget to take water and do stop at the small chapel on the way there.

The views of the fortress from here are wonderful and worth the climb up the steps. There is a board with a map by one of the churches but there are many paths.

“Quiet and peaceful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2013

A walk up the near 300 steps will lead you to a wonderful view-point giving views over the river to the old town and the fortress.
On the way up there is a tiny church to explore and at the top another church.
After the hustle and bustle of the town this is a wonderful place to linger.

“A Nice and Quiet Walk”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2013

I was lucky that I was there before the floods invaded Salzburg. It was a sunny afternoon, but because of plenty of vegetation and high winds it was pretty cool. There are three ways leading to the top, which is a cafe with a terrace. The top offers a good view over much of Salzburg, only second to that offered by the fortress! I was there too late so the cafe was closed. On the way there are some viewing platforms, I chose the Bastei Weg but I think it is now closed because of possible danger. But be sure to explore the Bastei Weg along the old walls when it is open again!

“incredible view of salzburg”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2013

Walking up to this park is quite fast, it takes around 15 minutes by stairs only, and you'll be rewarded since you'll catch a wonderful view of salzburg, with all the historic buildings and places at the same "frame".

Something interesting to be done is bring some food, sit in one of the benches and just slowly eat your food while listening to some music on your earphone and admiring salzburg, i recommend it to everyone.
