Owner description: This former palace now houses government offices. The gardens are where the von Trapp children sang "Do-Re-Mi" in the Sound of Music.

So much to see in Salzburg. The gardens where the Von Trapps danced and sang, the winding streets in Alde Stat and especially the birthplace of Mozart. Just not enough time when you are on a tour, but well worth the trip from Munich. I would go back in a heart beat.

Very beautiful palace and gardens. When I visited the gardens were covered in snow, which was a really nice view.

Straight from the film, lots of parts to see. Again go in the summer as a lot of parts are closed off in the winter

Nice place to sit and watch the city go by. It was very relaxing after running around a sightseeing for days. Well worth it.

Now let me preface this review by stating unequivocally that I'm not necessarily a "garden" person - but found Mirabell Gardens to be spectacular.
My wife and I spent a beautifully warm afternoon (in late September) roaming the gardens: enjoying the fountains and statues.
I can only imagine how it looks mid-summer, as it appeared to be in the midst of a change-over for the coming fall.
Don't miss it.
