The hotel are very tidy and neat, good design in every single room. They also provide free wifi for 6 hours, but after 6hrs, you can go to receptionist to ask new one for free wifi again. You have to pay extra breakfast for 5 or 6 Euro, but it's really abundant and fresh, price are worthy. The only worse thing is the location, you have to spend 20-30 mins by walk to city, of course you also can take bus but it will cost 2-3 Euro for a really short single trip.

This was a nice place to stay with paid breakfast.
Very friendly staff with proper information.
Rooms were decent and big.
We had a view over the mountain and it was splendid.
They also have balconies facing the mountain .... Superb place to spend time out there!
Internet was free.
The only issue that we had, was climbing stairs to 5th floor... :P the elevator was broken due to heavy rainfall just before our visit.. Hope other tourists visiting there will not face this issue.

Room Tip: 5th floor facing the mountain (please check if the elevators are functional)

As mentioned before, this is not actually in the city centre, but we found the 20 min walk ok. Had a twin room overlooking the road which was clean and comfy with private bathroom, kitchen is a bonus for making own meals though I could see it could get busy. Staff friendly and efficient and had 2 good nights sleep so beds must have been ok!

The hotel is very far from the city center - that is worth mentioning. (Obviously I knew this). If I return to Salzburg, I would stay closer. There are tram connections to the tourist areas though.
We stayed in a 4 person room. The room was clean, modern and comfortable. The top bunk was not made up, but the lower bunk and double bed was.
The reception didn't seem particularly well-run, we had to wait a long time to pay for our snacks, but they did mention they were changing shifts, so that may be why.
We didn't spend much time in the lobby common area, but it looked nice and they did have snacks for sale, which was convenient.

I could find only this hotel in Salzburg that provided kitchen. So to all those who want to save money on food OR have prculiar habits (like vegetarian food or want only spicy food etc.), this is a good option. Shared kitchen on the ground floor is too small especailly if the hotel is full - you may have to wait for your turn to cook. It was too crowded and hence was messy in the kitchen in May. But staff cleans it in morning. It also has a common washing machine and a dryer - a big plus in European hotels.

Room was very small - esp if you are taking a 4 bed option. Photographs of the room on the hotel's website are certainly deceiving and room is really very very small. It is a 10ft by 10ft room with a double bed on one side and a bunk bed fitted in the corner and absolutely no space for anything else. But still 4 adults can sleep!

Hotel is out of the city but very easy to go to center and anywhere by treolley buses. Absolutely no inconvinience there.

I will recommend this for those traveling with families or kids and want to have a kitchen. Or backpackers who dont mind sharing a tiny room with 3 others. Else go for a hostel OR a good hotel.

As in other reviews, it is worth noting that this is effectively a budget hotel rather than a hostel. As such, it represents very good value. It is a fair way out of the city centre, but is quite easy to get to as it is a short walk from the Sterneckstrasse stop on the no. 2 bus route.

It is a little let down by the length you sometimes need to wait to be served at reception, as there are only one or two staff to serve any arrivals/departures/requests for info, as well as to man the bar. I also experienced difficulty accessing the internet from our room, despite the fact that wi-fi is supposed to be accessible throughout the building, and you are even provided with a second username and password to access the system from your room.

That apart, our experience of the hotel was very positive. It is a welcoming environment, the staff are very helpful, the room was spacious and clean, complete with an en suite shower room, and the view from our room was spectacular. The rooms are also air-conditioned, which was a nice (but necessary) surprise, but the large windows also open. For the standard of accommodation it was also extremely good value.

Another bonus was that the hotel is also just along the road from the Brauhaus Furbergs, which I would definitely recommend you take the opportunity to visit.

Room Tip: The higher rooms on the road side of the building have a wonderful view.

Am a big fan of the Meininger chain, with many being in good locations throughout Germany and one in London.

Location wise this is not the best choice in terms of access to the city centre, as compared to previous visits to the city you need to get a bus to get into the centre of town.

Although the room itself was pleasant enough, cleanliness was definitely an issue, a theme reflected through other parts of the property also.

There are definitely more central and better value options in Salzburg for me.
