Owner description: Red Bull Hangar-7 Hangar-7 at Salzburg Airport is a unique building which houses the historical Flying Bulls aircraft fleet and a collection of Formula 1 race cars. Hangar-7 also offers space for art exhibitions. And with its Restaurant Ikarus, two bars, an Outdoor Lounge and one café, it is not just an events location, but a meeting point for art lovers and bons vivants, too.

Very interesting place to go if you like planes and cars!! Felix Baumgartner's capsule and suit are amazing to see!
Free entry is great and we spent around 30minutes looking at the exhibits. The number 10 bus takes you there for around 2.40 euro from Salzburg centre, around a 10minute journey. Our bus driver was kind enough to let us know when to get off! Make sure you visit the toilets downstairs!

So close to the airport, so if you have time before you depart this is an ideal attraction to visit plus it is free entrance and free parking, there are lots of cars & history to keep you entertained but the highlight was seeing the capsule that Franz Baumgartners used, it is tiny compared to what you had imagined, worth going to see that.
We ate in the restaurant outside and the service was so dire, it took two hours for the food to finally arrive and it certainly wasn't worth the wait! When paying the bill came to 84 euros gave in 100 euro note then had to ask for the change! The restaurant does have prime viewing to watch planes taking off and landing.

Caught the 10 bus from the centre of Salzburg at 2 euros each way and dropped off right outside the building.
Very impressive entrance with a variety of exhibits for petrol heads or adventurers. Loved the restaurant and café which was very smart. The deserts to die for.
You only need an hour or two for the exhibits but do try the food and drink. What a great atmosphere’
My favourite exhibit was Felix Baumgartner. I cannot believe how small the capsule was and how much bottle that guy must have had to fall with such style
Could not believe this was freebee!

Located near the airport, this amazing hangar, owned by Red Bull founder Dietrich Mateschitz, has a wow factor whether you are interested in planes and race cars or not. Being big F1 fans and also having a hubby who is a pilot, this was heaven for us! The collection contains beautifully maintain planes, both classic and contemporary, a variety of F1 cars from races over the years and heliocopters. And now, the suit and capsule of Felix Baumgartner used in his amazing space jump. There are 3 lovely restaurants to eat at as well. While the cafe on the ground floor has light snacks and coffee and beer, Ikarus is the real treat. Each month they have a guest chef who creates various culinary delights. The best part about this is that there is no entrance fee and plenty of free parking. Doesn't get better than that! If you are in Salzburg this is definitely a must see!
