Owner description: Welcome to MOZART DINNER CONCERT in the Baroque hall of the monastery cellar St. Peter in the heart of Salzburg! By visiting our performance you will be taken back to Mozart's time. Enjoy an evening likely to have taken place in 1790 - in the baroquehall - lit by candles, having a dinner based on historical recipes, listening to a concert with musicians in authentic costumes and the music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

If you are looking for a pleasant way to spend an evening listening to Mozart favorites and enjoying a 3 course dinner, consider the Mozart Dinner Concert at the Stiftskeller St. Peter in Salzburg. If you want a 2 hour serious concert featuring composers in a seated hall, there are many other venues offering full concerts. This is an evening of entertainment- food in combination with music. The selections are from Mozart's operas, played by a small group of local musicians and sung by talented local performers. The set meal is good, although not the typical Austrian meal of meat or sausage (which is actually a refreshing change). There is really no bad seat in the house however it may be more convenient to face the stage. The courses are served in between opera sets. Be aware that everything is extra- alcohol, water, and even the program ( if you like following along with the words and translation). Forget asking for tap water. Not served even if requested. All in all a perfectly enjoyable evening, especially if you are fortunate enough to sit at a table with pleasant companions.

We had a most enjoyable evening at the Mozart Dinner Concert at the Stiftskeller St. Peter. Sections of 3 different operas were performed by 2 singers accompanied by a chamber music quintet, all very talented. The singers were also capable actors and included the audience at times in their vignettes, all very enjoyable. The dinner was typical for banquet food, not gourmet, but fine. It was a bit more upscale if you chose the premium seats. I would highly recommend this show for a most enjoyable evening.

Our concert was held in a salon at the Bishop's Castle. This salon was used originally for chamber concerts. Dinner was at a restaurant on the castle grounds. Out one window we had a view of the river and the city. Out the other window, we had a view of the Austrian Alps. The quartet was top notch.

Yes a little tourist but the venue is amazing, food is good, wine and beer is very nice and the large tables make it very nice to meet some new people. The performers are so talented. Great way to spend an evening and the walk through town after is so beautiful!

We booked the Mozart Dinner and Concert (at Salzburg Fortress) through Viator. The $140 something cost included the funicular ride up to the fortress, a 3 course dinner, and the concert itself.

Upon entering the bottom of the fortress we simply showed our printed receipt from our online reservation and were let right through to the funicular. The ride up to the fortress is awesome, only to be completely overwhelmed with the views once you're actually up there. We showed up early so we took the opportunity take take in the awe inspiring vistas afforded from most sides of the fortress.

At 6:30 when it was time for dinner, we made our way into the restaurant, once again our printed receipt was all we needed and they checked our name off the list. We were shown to a candlelit table right next to the window which had amazing views of the Alps. Seriously, we have never eaten a meal with such a spectacular view. We opted to get a bottle of wine (€34 for an Austrian Riesling). The tomato soup appetizer and our main courses were good, not great, but what can you expect for the price? The dessert dumpling was delicious and the Segafredo cappuccino was worth the upcharge.

After dinner we made our way up the numerous amounts of stairs (this is not for someone who has trouble walking) to the concert hall. For those that made online reservations we had to wait in line to be given tickets with our reserved seats (closer to the front) listed on them. There couldn't have been more than 100 people in the hall, which made for a very intimate setting. What really makes this concert shine is that you're so close to the performers, you can see all of their movements and emotions, including the very zealous cellist. The first part of the show was very good followed by a 15 minute or so intermission with drinks and snacks for purchase. The second half was as good as the first, but the real treat was at the end. We must have been a very grateful audience as they performed TWO encores. You could tell that they were doing these numbers for fun as they smiled and moved about quite a bit with the second even more than the first. Their fun didn't affect their performance though, as these were the best songs of an excellent concert.

We HIGHLY recommend this and will try to book the same concert IN THE FORTRESS if we make our way back to Salzburg.
