Owner description: Welcome to MOZART DINNER CONCERT in the Baroque hall of the monastery cellar St. Peter in the heart of Salzburg! By visiting our performance you will be taken back to Mozart's time. Enjoy an evening likely to have taken place in 1790 - in the baroquehall - lit by candles, having a dinner based on historical recipes, listening to a concert with musicians in authentic costumes and the music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Enjoyable evening. Music and singing were very good. Food was also very good. Although no choice of menu it was well cooked and tasty. The restaurant it is in is beautiful. Altogether a lovely evening, well worth the money paid. Drinks prices were a little more than elsewhere but there was a price list on the table so it shouldn't come as a surprise.

Get the upgrade ticket. We sat center stage & had filet of beef while all around us had a chicken dish. The music & vocals were over the top. The costumes were funny at first but the atmosphere got you in the spirit! Loved it & got the cd. Plus upgraded dessert!

Yes it's touristy. Yes the costumes are a little goofy. Yes the food is a tad overpriced, with wedding-style catering quality. Who cares? Look at the big picture: You are in Salzburg listening to live, talented musicians performing Mozart operas by candlelight, in a gorgeous and acoustically perfect setting. Squint your eyes and pretend you were there - in the late 1700s, listening to it for the first time. If you can put your iPhone down for a minute, that is. But if you do get some video on your phone, I promise the sound quality will come out perfectly. Even though they probably perform this concert constantly, the enthusiasm of the group we saw, made sure it was fresh. This night is all about experiencing the historic atmosphere and hearing the music the way it was meant to be heard - while sharing it with tourists from all over the world.

Mixed reviews below did not bear inspection. We had a very good experience. The music was pretty much as expected and rightly so but the standard of singing was lovely and the quintet did a great job. Dinner was a little on the institutional side but it was very tasty and do not forget we only paid Euro 58 for this whole evening. Wine list was good and efficiently delivered. We joined a table of 4 couples of very different provenance and we enjoyed their company hugely; it was part of lovely evening.

You MUST check out where it is before the evening. It is not the easiest to find but it is in a corner on the second courtyard at the back of the abbey nearest the cliffs. Also get there well before 7.30. We got there as they said and almost everyone was already there.

For anyone passing through who is not a Mozert devotee but likes a pleasant evening of classical music this is more than good enough.

Not worth the money for this Mozart dinner concert held at Stiftskeller St. Peter. Though the place is very grand and candlelite, the performance of the musicians and the opera singers were mediocre. It seemed like they were simply doing their daily chores, not much efforts or feelings were put in. Nothing to mention about the dinner, a very sour lemon cream soup (undrinkable), and a very dried piece of chicken breast plus an ordinary mousse. Regardless of the dress code as required, they allowed two women in shorts to attend the dinner concert. Would suggest others to dine at a good restaurant then attend a proper Mozart concert.
