Every time I visit this city going Augustiner brewery is a must!
Fresh, tasty, flavored beer right into your hands! Proper atmosphere, huge halls, brilliant cuisine! What else can I add?!
A must visit place in any case.

“Good atmosphere and worth a visit”
Reviewed August 4, 2013 via mobile

This was a fun experience. We sat in the large beer garden for a few hours, drinking the good beer and enjoying the busy but relaxed atmosphere. The food choices from the deli area were typically Austrian and what we had was nice. The drinks were well-priced. You need to buy a ticket then collect your tankards and get a drink- and only get a ticket for the drinks you're buying immediately, you can't get tickets for six drinks and cash them in over the course of an evening. Worth a visit, we had a fun afternoon. This caters for all ages- there were babies, elderly people and everyone in between sat outside enjoying the sunshine.

“great traditional food”
Reviewed August 4, 2013

The restaurant is a bit far from the old town but it is very nice to have 15 mminutes of walk to reach this place. The beer is great and the prices are very reasonable.
We had a fantastic goulash and a very nice trout, everything was very tasty. The service is fast and professional. Next time I will go back there just for a beer or for a good meal.

“Worth a detour”
Reviewed August 4, 2013

I see some people are almost euphorical about this place. This is a nice place and it is worth a detour, being situated a bit outside the center of things in Salzburg. I am pleased I took the time to walk there, because the building is nice and the place is, well, different.

But when you sum things up, this is extremly touristy and the garden isn't all that exciting. I have really nothing bad to say about the place, the staff was nice, people in general in a good mood, the prices are ok (like 3€ for a 0,5l beer) and the concept of bringing your own mug to the tap is somewhat exotic I guess. It is all a bit industrial though, at least at the time of the day when I visited.

I give it a 3 out of 5, because it was worth the trip and I might go back. Might even bring a friend.

“Great Beer, Food and one of the only places open SUNDAY”
Reviewed July 22, 2013

Unable to find anything open on a Sunday afternoon we made the 20min walk from old town Salzburg to this place
So Glad we did

Its a large beer hall with indoor and outdoor seating said to fit 1600 people

Its simple you line up (beware floor wet), grab a ceramic mug (500ml or 1lit) off the shelf, Wash it out in the fountain(its clean just needs a cool rinse), pay the guy at the window tell him either radler (beer and lemonade or other soft drink Yum) or normal beer, 13EUR for a 1lt radler and 1lt beer. Then take the mug to guy with massive keg to fill (grab lemonade, cola, fanta bottle and go find a seat.

Seating inside or outside (think smoking only outside) both nice but if a sunny warm day outside is best

Food - you can bring your own as we saw people do or get from one of the 5 or so stalls
Inside is the bread lady were you can get pretzels or bread for around 1.5EUR each. Also the meat guy is inside selling pork and other great items.
Outside is sausage, chicken and usually served with wedges
A plate will cost you around 7EUR and is a good share for two people pre dinner snack

Kids are welcome and there is a playground there

Great way to spend a afternoon (especially Sunday when nothing else in Salzburg is open) with a few beers watching the world go by.
