“Good location, and nice place”
Reviewed September 5, 2012

We enjoyed 3 nights at Pension Katrin. The property is in a great location near the Old Town and is a short walk from a bus stop. Sandra was a great host and helped us out whenever we needed (ideas for bike rentals, walks, concerts, etc.). Breakfast was excellent and there was a lot of variety. We enjoyed sitting in the attached sunroom each morning to enjoy our breakfast. The rooms comes with free WiFi, however we were unable to get access using our phones. This is the only time I have ever had trouble connecting to a WiFi network with my phone, so this was a bit of an inconvenience. The McDonald's in the old town had free WiFi though, so that solved our problem! The rooms are a decent size and come with a mini-fridge, and comfy bed. There was no air conditioning though, so that made for some fairly hot nights during all the humid rainy days in June. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend Pension Katrin for a stay in Salzburg.

I booked this b&b for our mixed family of 6. We had three lovely rooms, including a family suite with two bedrooms. Sandra replied via email in excellent English which was very helpful. The location is perfect! It's an easy 10 minute walk to Old Town, or up the hill to the Abbey and Castle. Their road leads out of Salzberg so Hellbrun Castle, the Zoo, Eagles Nest and Salt Mines are an easy drive away. There is also a bus line that runs on their road but we didn't use it so I can't comment on it.

The rooms were clean and well-appointed. Their breakfast was excellent-European style, and service was fabulous. The staff were all pleasant and helpful at all times. Parking was easy, and the neighborhood is quiet at night. There is a grocery store 2 blocks away if you want to stock your room fridge or car for the road.

Room Tip: I really liked our family suite. Even for a couple who are staying for several nights, the 2nd bedro...

Location near the old city is ideally suited for travellers with or without transport. As there is free parking and the no.5 bus into town just down the road.We were made very welcome by the hostess who answered all our questions to our complete satisfaction. The breakfast room was very bright and spotlessly clean, and an adequate breakfast to set you on your way.Very highly recommended. We'd stay here again.

This is a very good place - only about 15 minutes walk from the centre around the fortress perimeter. Unless you must absolutely stay right in the centre, this is an excellent choice. The hostess is charming and very helpful with travel plans. Our good-sized room was very comfortable, with comfy bed, attached lounge, TVs, mini-bar, safe and balcony. It is on a busy road but noise is not a problem.

Continental breakfast is good and served in a bright conservatory. It is near the trolley-bus stop for access to town or Hellbrunn Palace (buy tickets at the tobacconist across the road).

We stayed here for 3 days in June 2012. Good location - nice neighborhood, 1/2 block in either direction to 2 different bus lines. The hostess was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a buffet with much variety. The room was a bit small, but was clean. We'd stay here again.

Very pleasant and comfortable little bed and breakfast. Sandra was endlessly helpful offering maps and looking up bus timetables. She speaks 5 languages which is very impressive and so great for guests. We easily walked the 1 kilometre into town but the bus is very close by as an alternative. Breakfast was a continental style buffet with a fabulous, freshly made fruit salad as a highlight . The beds and pillows were very comfortable and although the weather was warm, a fan was supplied which was effective in cooling the room. Great water pressure in the shower, too. all round we had a delightful stay here.

It is not a fancy place but warm and cozy place. The hotel has a cute garden as well. I had a very pleasant stay at this charming hotel. The hostess was warm and welcoming. She was very helpful from giving recommendation to looking up information. The breakfast was great with cold cuts, yogurt, fresh bread and fresh fruits. Everything was very fresh. She even gives you warm milk for your coffee! The location was pretty good too. It is just a 10mins walk to old town and the bus stop was 2mins away from the hotel.
