La Bellevue
Reviewed July 8, 2012

Steve and I are fans of France and the French and our stay at Annie's House , one of two gites in the home of the delightful Beaumonts (Sarah-jane ,Gerald, Augustine and Constance ) exceeded all our expectations . We have rated the whole experience as Excellent !.
They also have a Bistro bar in Saumer that is again excellent !
It was a long drive but the holiday was worth every euro and mile .
Thankyou so much
Selina & Steve

Having never been to the Loire valley I had visions of picturesque, quaint little villages surrounded by vineyards. Annie's house lived up to all expectations.

It is a beautiful cottage in a tiny, authentic French village surrounded by sunflower fields and vineyards situated in the heart of château country.

As every other review has said the hosts put this property head and shoulders above the rest. Sarah-Jane and Gérald are truly wonderful hosts, leaving you to enjoy your holiday but always on-hand and ever-willing to bend over backwards to help.

They own their own vineyard which Gérald runs and therefore he has the most exquisite knowledge of wine.

They both have great knowledge of the area and provided us with a welcome-pack which listed all the attractions worth visiting.

There is free wifi in the accommodation which we used to research where to go and how to get to places.

The house is well-equipped with everything you might need and when we did need a blender to make some soup Sarah-Jane was only too happy to lend us whatever we needed.

You WILL need a car to travel around the Loire Valley but that should come as no surprise and Annie's House provides a parking space. The cottage and parking is next door to the owners' house and is very secure behind electric gates a key to which you will be given. There is also a small terrace ideal for drinking wine on hot summer evenings.

All in all this was a truly excellent stay and very resonably priced. I do hope we'll have the opportunity to go back very soon.

Delightful cottage in the Loire Valley beautifully presented and equipped. The cottage and location is wonderful but the hospitality and friendliness of the hosts sets it apart. Sarah-Jane and Gerald could not have been more helpful. We ordered the Table d'Hote service the evening we arrived and it was a truly romantic start to our holiday. We would also recommend the wine degustation course with Gerald, we learned a great deal and enjoyed our selves immensely at the same time. We would highly recommend Annie's House to any of our friends.

5 nights at "La Bellevue" was the perfect way to be introduced to the Loire Valley. Our gite, "La Grange d'Henri" was a warm and comfortable stay in very peaceful surroundings. Sarah-Jane and Gerald are wonderful hosts and their warm hospitality and friendliness was simply infectious. They both had lots of helpful suggestions as far as where to go, what to do and what to see. Sarah-Jane is an inspirational lady with a mission - to make our stay simply fabulous. Beautiful French dinner and breakfast we thoroughly enjoyed. We loved the tour of the caves and the wine. We will be back again one day!

it was our first experience staying in a gite. The gite itself was of a very high standard and Bellevue has a lovely peaceful atmosphere.

It is a beautiful and peaceful location and the gite is very well equipped and maintained and your every need is catered for. The warm and friendly hosts make you feel instantly at home. The host's knowledge of wine is truly amazing and the tour of their caves is not to be missed. This is a truly beautiful gite ideally located for touring the Loire Valley and a visit is highly recommended.

Lovely, lovely, lovely we will definitely be going back next year.

Annie's House is a lovely, quiet spot to relax after a day of touring the chateaus, markets and vineyards in the area. It is centrally located for visiting a number of towns and cities. The accomodation is clean, roomy and very comfortable. The hosts, Sarah-Jane and Gerald, made us feel very welcome and were very knowledgeable about the area. We had arranged to have the evening meal on the day we arrived and the breakfast the first morning - both were delicious. We arranged a wine tour and tasting with Gerald and it is well worth doing. Gerald knows his wine and we learned a lot about what we were enjoying in the glass. We were in France to celebrate our 25th anniversary and I hope to be back to Annie's House for (or before) our 30th.

What can i say about Annie's House? Just wonderful. As soon as you pull into the drive, the scene before you whisks you away from all the stresses of normal life and wraps you up in a romantic French getaway. Inside, the cottage was very clean, well laid out with lots of infomation booklets ready to be browsed. basic supplies had been provided which was a blessing after a long drive. The only possible downside was the downstairs bathroom but still this was very clean with a hot and powerful shower. The cottage is in a very quiet village but only 8km from the local town. The owners were extremely accommodating, never making you feel like you were intruding on them if you needed any guidance or advice on local activities/ restaurants. Within 20km of the village there are some stunning places to eat and visit. A very enjoyable stay and highly recommended.
