Well, this hotel has fabulous views over Faaker See lake. Parking is normal, without too much complication (there might be some extra space if you park along the other access road). The summer garden is bliss, although you might find it deserted. The family taking care of the place is doing a good job. Very friendly. The food menu is traditional apparently with some endeavours towards some good wine - but not certain. The morning scenery with a view towards the mists of Faaker See are breath taking - i could spend some days looking ecstatic to the lake. Try it for one go and then decide if a return is possible. One thing for sure: dinner staffs really after making you feel well. Tchuss!

The hotel is situated about 2km away from the lake. They operate a shuttle service towards their friendly private area at the lake.

Therefore, the hotel has a magnificent view at the lake. And that is fantastic as well during diner as during breakfast.

If you approach the hotel, you see it at its back turned to the street. It is not an inviting view. But if you are in the hotel. all rooms have that lake-view. The owner is a romantic guy and is taking care to keep the family hotel as it was for a long long time. But that also is the treat for the hotel. The guest are more older, but the hotel is not adjusted to this group. The beds a very very low. You sleep 25 cm above the floor ! Hard to get in and out!
There are no shower cabines but there is a bath tub were you have to climb in and then you have to 'fight' with some glass folding door..

There is a elevator, the hotel is very clean and the breakfast is complete.
The diner is good, but looking at the price per couvert ( €60,-) it is much overpriced.
The hotel is charging you €240 a night 2 persons including diner.

A lovely hotel in Drobollach which we reached by bicycle having set off from Klagenfurt following the route of the Drau river. We received a very warm welcome from mein host who was unfailing cheerful throughout our stay and clearly works hard to ensure that all guests have an excellent time. The hotel overlooks the Faaker See and has a private beach on the shore of the lake.
In good weather one can eat on the terrace over-looking the lake with the Julien Alps as the backdrop, simply stunning. The food is also excellent. If you are planning a holiday near Faaker See definitely consider the Schönruh as your base.
