Modern hotel downtown Graz. Close to the historical city center. Excellent breakfast. Internet free in the rooms. The staff is nice. In my opinion the level is higher than a regular Mercure Hotel. Recommended.

If we had known when we were planning the itinerary for our tour what an interesting city Graz is, and what a lovely hotel this is, we would have stayed a little longer!

After arriving in Graz, and finding the hotel, at first, we had to drive around the block three times, to try to work out how to check into this hotel, as you are unable to drive your car up to the hotel's entrance. We worked out that to check in, we, first, had to park our car in the underground carpark, which is situated in a laneway, behind the hotel. After we parked and unloaded our car, we took the lift up to reception. Here, we were greeted by an exceptionally friendly and pleasant staff member. Her name is Brigitte Vogenbeck. After we asked about what we could see and do in the short time we had in Graz, she made a number of suggestions, and marked points of interest on the map that she provided us with. In our opinion, she is perfect for the job, and a real asset to the hotel!

Our room was extremely comfortable, although we would not have liked it to have been any smaller! The bathroom was modern and clean. The view from our bedroom was not the best, as it looked out onto an adjacent jumble of rather unappealing buildings. The free WiFi worked perfectly on our iPhones, and my laptop.

After we returned from a long walk around the city's shopping centre, and a nice dinner in a nearby restaurant, we returned to our room, where I went online to purchase a vignette, to permit road travel in Hungary, where we were travelling to the next day. I called Brigitte, to ask her if she could help me out by printing out the vignette on the hotel's printer, so I could take it with me the next day, on our trip. Without hesitation, she suggested that I e-mail it to her, and told me that she would print it off, and have it waiting for me, when we went down for breakfast, the next morning.

The next morning, we headed down to breakfast. The range of hot and cold was exceptional, and the staff were friendly and attentive. We would go so far as to say that the range and the of quality of the food included in the breakfast buffet, at this hotel, was better than any of the other Accor establishments that we'd stayed in during our trip!

After breakfast, we went back to our room, packed out bags, and made our way down to reception to finalise our account. We were attended to by Judit. Once again, this staff member appeared to be a real asset to to the hotel! She was friendly and warm, and promptly handed us the vignette that Brigitte had printed off for us the night before.

We would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this hotel! It is well-positioned, only a five minute walk from the river, and a 15-minute walk to the city's main shopping street. On the morning we departed from the hotel, there was a rather large market in the square very close to the hotel. We took the opportunity to have a look around the market, before we departed. Our only regret is that we didn't have the opportunity to spend a little longer visiting Graz, and this lovely hotel!

The Hotel is located centrally and most places one would wish to visit in Graz are within walking distance. The staff is nice, helpful and can understand as well as can speak good English so communication is not a problem. The rooms are nice, comfortable and clean and the appearance is appealing. The airport is not too far, just 11 km from the hotel. Although it would have been good to have a restaurant inside the hotel, there are plenty of restaurants around and does not cause much of a problem. The breakfast is really nice and has plenty of variety.
Overall it was a pleasant experience to stay at the Hotel and I would definitely recommend this to guys who wish to visit Graz and want to enjoy the culture of this vibrant and beautiful city.

The hotel is conveniently located near the city center.
The rooms are clean and quite.
There is a garage located in the hotel basement.
The personnel is kind and the procedures to get in and out are normally fast.
The only negative point is the absence of a restaurant inside the hotel.

Mercure Graz City is located in the city centre, with various restaurants and attractions nearby. The staff is helpful and pollite and english is spoken and understood well.

The rooms are nice and quite clean. Some stains are to be found stuck on the carpet, but not up to a point it being an issue of any kind. Only drawback was the air conditioning. The temperature in the room was a bit high for my liking and though there was an adjustment panel with plenty ofoptions (fan speed, target temperature etc.), I wasn't able to cool the room down.

Overall Mercure Graz City is highly recommended. The location is great, not much far away the medieval castle built up on the mountains, a great place to spend an evening in Graz.

I might have to visit the city again near in future and Mercure Graz City would be first choice for a hotel.

This hotel had a nice interior and rooms were fine, however we were there during 90 degree hot spell and the A/C was only a swamp cooler. Just not adequate for hot weather. Made sleeping very difficult and we had prepaid for 5 days. The hotel was located near a farmer's market which was open daily and there were several cute cafes for pastries, beer, full meals, etc. This hotel is about 1 mile from the old town area across the river.

Room Tip: No restaurant, but a nice breakfast served daily.
