“Proper Hostel with Basic Amenities”
Reviewed September 27, 2013

I visited Graz on a business purpose. I was looking for a hostel which had reasonably prised (below 40 euro) single rooms where I could check in at late evening (11pm). Even though there are many low budget places in Graz, most of them close their reception by 10:00pm. This place keeps its reception open till late night 1:00am. The rooms are clean, but are very basic. The bathroom was clean. The reception serves coffee till late night 1:00am.

The place is very near (around 1 km) from city railway (train) station (Graz Hauptbahnhof). We can even walk down from their within 10 minutes. The hotel is not connected by tram. However, there are frequent buses to go to Jakominiplatz from nearby bus stop.

There is a morning complementary served for breakfast for single room reservation, which is good. The checkout time is 10:00 am, which was little early for me.

Overall, this is a low budget, clean and nonsense place with value for money stay.

I stayed for one night in this hostel, originally thinking it was a fairly small locally run hostel. Turns out its a fairly major chain and thus a big building. While the rooms were well equipped and clean, the ability to meet fellow travellers was a bit limited as its both a hostel and had a lot of families staying. Tere s a bar to hang out in but always very quiet in the evenings.

Location was good with easy acces to the train station and town centre, both of which were within comfortable walking distance.

While I enjoy my stay there I doubt I would return as the atmosphere/feel of the hostel wasn't great and it all felt a bit empty. I have no complains as the hostel was cheap for the accommodation and breakfast was included but I didn't find particularly much to write home about.

Stayed here 3-4 times. Rooms were clean, stuff helpful and easygoing, breakfast rich and good. Sometimes one can meet families with kids, but it never was a problem. Will stay there again. Good value for the money. Parking possible in the hotel compound for little money (5€ or so...). Reasonable good and affordable restaurants near. All in all - recommended!

The location is perfect: although the highways were easy to reach, still the city center was only a few minutes walk (while we could safely leave our car in the hotels park area).
The staff was also very kind and efficient: the whole check in process took approx. 2 minutes!

The only little problem was the internet connection. That should be improved (Especially supporting mobile devices! It is essential today!), otherwise everything was perfect!

I stayed in a four bed dorm at Jufa for one night and it was a quite pleasant stay. The staff was very friendly, the room was clean and the breakfast was already included in the price. The lobby, dining rooms and cafe are quite modern, the garden is tidy, the parking area large enough and they even have a nice small children's playground, bike rental outlet and an elevator. Also, the location of the guesthouse is pretty good - it's just around 10 minutes' walk from the main train station and about 15 minutes from the city center. However, the place has some downsides, like: limited Wi-Fi reception (it works only in the lobby), relatively small rooms (at least the dorm I was in), old furniture and the use of keys instead of keycards.

I stayed in JUFA between July 23 and July 30 with three colleagues. The staff was amazing and the facilities looked new. We all had booked single comfort rooms. In my case, they didn't have a single room available and I stayed in a four-bedded room alone. All four rooms were very clean. 50 meters from the hotel there is a bus stop, and there is a bus for the city center every 7 minutes, but we also walked back a few times, it is not that far.

The only downsides were a smell coming from the drain-pipes and that the rooms didn't have WiFi, but it was available only in the lobby.

Room Tip: Choose a room that faces the back of the hostel, they are more quiet.
