“Great place to stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 12, 2014

We stayed here very often, and we can full-heartedly recommend this place. Beautiful rooms, beds with good sleeping, VERY nice staff, at reception as well as in the restaurant for breakfast, very nice and interesting art pieces in the entire hotel and rooms, a beautiful pool area (where you can rest very comfortably on leather couches) with Sauna and a small fitness room. And all that for very reasonable prices. So clearly this is the place to stay if you come to beautiful Graz. 2 more points: they also have a Penthouse Suite in the top floor (the elevator brings you directly into your room) that is incredible and not even that expensive as you would expect. And second, but certainly not unimportant, they also have a Restaurant (Magnolia) next door, which belongs to the hotel, where you can eat like Queen and King and I have rarely seen a place with as consistent food quality as this one ..... really spectacular. Congratulations to the Augartenhotel team, you do a great job, and deserve to be always fully booked.

Room Tip: if you want a sightly larger room book a double large room, or if you want to treat yourself or your...

Dear Patrick K,

thank you so much for your great commend on tripadvisor. Our whole team is delighted to hear that you enjoyed every time you have stayed with us so far.

We are pleased that you adore our place and that you find our rooms comfortable. Our leisure area is well equipped and 24 hours open every day of the year. We do have a beautiful penthouse on our top floor which is also surrounded by our roof top terrace and definitely worth to see. The rewarded restaurant Magnolia is next door and provides our guests with a daily lunch and dinner menu or if requested it is possible to order room service as well.

Please honour us with your visit again soon.

This is a great hotel. From the moment you check in, the reception is friendly, and the receptionists speak english well. The staff seem always willing to help, and do whatever they can to make the stay convenient and enjoyable. The parking in the building itself (although a little expensive) is garaged, locked and convenient. The apartments we rented were terrific. They are large, clean, with a living room, kitchen, good shower and bathrooms, 2 TVs, internet, etc. Would DEFINITELY stay here again when in Graz.

Room Tip: Try to get upgraded to the "apartments" - So worth it - huge and beautiful, clean and conv...

We had major car issues In Graz and the wonderful reception staff at this hotel went out of their way to help us. They were exceptional-nothing was too much trouble for those young ladies.
The hotel was excellent. The personal arrival notes and little gifts were really appreciated.

We have been at Augartenhotel from the 1st to the 5th of May. We had wonderful time first of all because this is a place voted to the art and design. We could appreciate many of the pictures and the art works in the hotel. Moreover our room was fantastic: a quite big area with a small and furnished kitchenette, it was more similar to a small apartment than to a simple double room. When we arrived we had a nice welcome with a plate of fruit and we also appreciated the apples that everyday we coould find in our room:). It was nice to have the chance to get to the leisure area after spending the day in the Graz city and enjoy the little swimming pool and the sauna (it is not a big leisure area but it is nice anyway and most of all it is open 24 hours per day). The hotel staff was very kind and the breakfast was amazing with very high quality products. So we can say that everything was simply perfect and we would definetely reccomend this place to all the tourists interested in visiting Graz.

Dear Mrs Laura S!

We are delighted to hear that the stay at our house was a pleasure for you. You were given one of our double medium rooms, which is indeed very spacious and equipped with a small but nice kitchen. It makes us proud to hear that you thought of the breakfast as high quality breakfast since we only offer selected products from very specific suppliers. Thank you for your more than kind comment. The whole team wishes you all the best and hopes to welcome you back soon!

This was my first time staying at this hotel. Everything and everyone was great. Really could not find fault in my stay.

I had a larger room, great wifi, and nice balcony looking into a common area with nice trees and flowers. Room had lots of windows and plenty of space.

Staff was excellent and just a short walk to shopping and trains.

Travelled to Graz in early February on business. On checking in to the Augarten, was upgraded to the apartment over the Magnolia restaurant and felt like royalty with the amount of rooms and amenities. The deck was really nice to sit on in the afternoon. The bedrooms were comfortable and well appointed, Beds comfortable and overall, the unit was spotless.
The staff put together a plate of fruit and cheeses and house made bread for me as I was starving when I arrived. I ate three meals at the Magnolia and each one was better than the last.
The staff were friendly and attentive and the location was very convenient to the town center and the Schlossberg.

Breakfast was delicious each morning, with a variety of delicious and healthy options.

Dear RPTDen!

We were delighted to read your more than positive feedback on tripadvisor. We are glad that you enjoyed the upgrade to one of our four apartments which are really spacious and perfect for a longer stay. Of course we can always prepare individual meals for our guests and are pleased you liked our cheese plate as well as our breakfast buffet. The magnolia is our rewarded restaurant and we read with pleasure that you seem to have enjoyed every bit of it.

We are looking forward to hopefully welcoming you back soon.

Location, regardless of the exact measurements, makes this hotel not a very convenient walking location to the inner town or old town. We are fast walkers too, but felt once we left the hotel we would have to be out for the day or at least only to return once. Usually there is a benefit in price for being inconvenienced by distance. The price is puzzling, because the hotel is significantly more expensive and no better than those closer into the old town so what is the benefit? I was not able to tell. At first I thought it was the close proximity to a green park and the river, but after moving later closer into the the old town I soon found much closer larger parks and walkways. There is really no reason to pay so much for this hotel. The breakfast is also overpriced, double that of other places for exactly the same if not a weaker fare.

Staff can be very nice, or judgmental, or completely sarcastic - it's hit or miss. The set up of the underground parking is convenient as it is connected to the elevator which takes you to your room’s floor. Rolling your bags along the outside of the balcony to your door feels like an American roadside motel. Once inside the steel door you nicely have the ability to close off the noise to the outside with another interior door. The room is a nice comfortable size, with a comfortable clean white, fresh feel. But the furniture while once deemed modern is about 10 years past exceptional. The hanging art inside the room is interesting, as are the works throughout the garage and hotel. The bathroom is uselessly enormous, would have been better to have a larger room. But the cute gift duck sponge and colorful toiletries add a sense of a 4 star-ness to the place as do the free fun magazines, hand-written welcome note, bedside apples and 24hr luxurious pool. Though, there is no coffee or tea in the room. There is a beautiful amount of storage for business stays and wifi is free. Our room offered a massive shared terrace with interesting art sculptures, which over looked nothing much, but offered a nice feel. Because the terrace is shared an open window means you do what your neighbors do and in this case it was smoke all night.

After personally viewing the other hotels closer to the all the restaurants and museums, we moved and it was a great decision. You know...

Room Tip: try not to get a shared balcony in summer if you are a non-smoker. there is an additional charge fo...
