thank you very much for your loyality and this friendly review!
We do hope that we can welcome you back soon!
Comfortable room, clean, excellent breakfast, very helpful staff. It was a shame that it was not possible to adjust the heating as the weather was warm - almost hot! Amazingly quiet considering its location - apart from pigeons cooing!
thank you very much for reviewing your stay with us!
This is an old style Ibis hotel, which means that the room, while rather large, is quite spartan and could do with a refurbishment. However, there are some very important positives to this hotel:
- the staff are very nice and polite
- there is a parking garage with lots of spaces underneath the hotel which costs 12,50 EUR per 24 hours, you pay at the reception
- breakfast is fantastic!!
- location is perfect if you arrive by bus or train
- the bed and pillows are very comfortable
The only problem that I had is that the room was very cold at night and even though the duvet kept me warm, I still had to breathe in cold air. To be fair, I didn't report this as I was only there for one night and couldn't be bothered to get dressed and go down, so this might be a problem with that one room only.
Oh and twin rooms do exist, even though the Accor website makes it seem they don't, weird. I just booked a double and prior to my arrival wrote to the hotel and asked for a quiet, twin room and they very kindly honored my request. Thank you!
Thank you very much for your sharing your experience and concerns!
We are very sorry, that it was too cold for you. For your comfort in the future, please be assured that Ibis staff are available 24 hours a day should something not be to your satisfaction - in almost all cases we can find a solution.
Once again thank you again for writing a very helpful review, it's very much appreciated.
We do hope to welcome you back in the near future.
Stayed here for one night at a cost of £69.00 €79.00 for the two of us.No breakfast included and had to pay an extra €12.50 just to park the car. We were made aware of this on our booking but felt this should have been free like other Ibis Hotels. The room was a good size, bed was comfy but the curtains were different colours one red one brown! the bathroom was very dated,The shower tiles had black mould on the grout and the paint was peeling off the cracked ceiling. There was no soap in the shower which meant you had to nip out to the bathroom sink to use the soap dispenser. Staff were friendly and efficient on reception. But what was really really interesting for us was that we had spent the previous night in an IBIS HOTEL in Edinburgh and although it was a budget hotel with basic facilitys the same as in Graz, Edinburgh Ibis was much more modern and clean looking with FREE parking and at a cost of £29.00 for the two of us it was very good value for money UNLIKE Ibis Graz! Surely this price difference cannot be down to just location!!!
Thank you for your sharing your experience and concerns.
We do check our room rates almost on a daily bases and always pride ourselves to be competitive in our local market place. We are very sorry if according to your point of view our rates were too high.
Please bear with us that parking is not included in our room rates - located next to the main railway station of Graz many of our guests are travelling by train and do not need parking.
We must apologise that we did no manage to provide you a flawless bathroom, your comment shows us that we need to be quicker in this matter of maintenance.
We are very sorry for your negative experience and that our hotel was not to your liking. If you ever change your mind our doors are always open to you!
We spent only a night in Graz, and this budget hotel met our needs (we were able to also redeem our Accor points here against this stay) as :
- The hotel is opposite the main train station, and was easily accessible by the airport bus or train when flying in.
- It’s a 10 minute walk from the historic centre, though there are frequent trams should you prefer to rest your legs.
- The Europcar city office (20, Kartnerstrasse) from where we picked up our rental next morning was a 15 minute walk away as well.
The rooms are basic, no frills and functional, as you’d expect from a typical IBIS hotel. We didn’t eat breakfast. We arrived in to Graz early morning after a long overnight flight, so a friendly welcome and getting our rooms immediately on check in were much appreciated.
thank you very much for this detailed review of your stay.
