My brother and I recently visited Graz and
We very much liked Hotel Erzherzog Johann. Wonderful breakfast was included and the Cafe and bar were excellent. The rooms are traditional luxury with all the modern necessities. Very relaxed luxury, not stuffy, located exactly where a visitor wants to be.

This is an old hotel in a great location - right by the main square. The atrium in the center of the hotel is beautiful and the entire atmosphere is charming. The rooms are good size, not like some other places in Graz, and have some personality (not all the same like most new hotels). Shower/tub has the traditional European glass half-wall so you have to be careful in the shower. They also are deep so you have to be careful getting in and out. The air conditioning will stay on even with the window open but the temperature will not go below 22 degree Celcius. Beds were good size and comfortable. There was lots of closet/storage space and we unpacked since we stayed three days. Breakfast had lots of variety for cold items but a limited number of hot items. The staff were superb. They were friendly, professional and helpful in any way we could ask. We would stay there again.

Lovely hotel in a historic location with helpful staff. My room was spacious and the bathroom is modern. The restaurant is in the middle of the surrounding rooms and the breakfast is functional. My room was quite quiet.

Room tip: Room on the inside are quiet

We found the Hotel Erzherzog to be quite charming. We had a very pleasant stay. The location is perfect. You step out the door and the main square is just 30 seconds away. We thought that both the room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. It had a private entranceway and a huge bedroom. The staff couldn't have been friendlier and more helpful. Our breakfast was included in our room rate and was good. Parking is extra. We were able to park right in front of the hotel because they have 3 spots there. I'm not sure where the other parking is. The street that the hotel is on looks like a pedestrian only street, but you can drive down as far as the hotel which is just before the square. If you do be careful of the trolley's which drive in front and behind you. We would definitely stay here again.

Quaint, boutique hotel, near the town square. Close to shopping and the city sites. Loved the room, it was like we stayed in an old home but with the modern conveniences of 2017. Breakfast was good but they do charge you extra for this.
