“Central hotel in large Austrian city”
Reviewed September 7, 2012

Stayed for one night on the way to Slovenia by motorcycle. Prior to travelling I'd checked that I could park the motorcycle in the hotel underground car park but, on arrival, was told that motorcycles were not allowed in the car park - instead I had to park behind the car park entrance, which was safe enough but not what I'd been advised previously. The room was large and spacious and the hotel was only a short walk to the main parts of the city. Breakfast was expensive at €16 and a large coach party trip meant a queue for the very varied and substantial fare on offer - the scrambled eggs and orange juice run out and took an age to be replaced.

I consider myself somewhat strict when it comes to my budget when travelling (I don't usually eat at hotel restaurants, instead I look for ways to save money: supermarkets, gas stations...) so I would say this hotel is pricey for my budget. But if you are looking for a clean place to stop and rest at for a night while travelling through Austria (Europe) then it's well worth it. And if you have reward points to use, then please by all means spend it on this hotel like I did, you will not be disappointed! This place to me was amazing! I have nothing bad to say about it. Staff are polite, professional. Hotel is very clean. New. Modern. Junior suite is huge! Bathrooms and bedrooms clean, simple lines, comfy beds. AC working, very simple. 7th floor suite has a long wide patio. Churches are visible from some of them. Buffet breakfast is 17/18 Euro per person. So, in my opinion it's expensive but it is to die for! The little corner where they have the food set up is amazing. I might as well say they have a tiny bakery set up in there. Numerous different types of breads, pastries, jams. Cold cuts, fresh veggies, cheeses. Cereals with all kinds of toppings. Eggs, bacon, sausages, goulash soup. Fresh fruit. Coffee, tea, juice. We went down at 6 am and had the place to ourselves. It was the best breakfast I have had in a long time in a hotel. Excellent!! Eat inside or out on the large patio, very nicely kept. The only thing missing, is a pool. But the location I guess makes up for that. Just a block away, you have access to shops, cafes and historic buildings/churches. Beautiful buildings all around the hotel. It is very pretty at night, lots of people on the streets. It's an adorable place to go for a walk with someone you love. Very romantic. Parking at the hotel is 15 Euro, worth it. Other hotels in area charge more.

As other commenters have said, this is a very new hotel, mostly business. It doesn't have that old world feeling of Linz, but hey, after a long day travelling by train, a fresh, comfy bed and a spotlessly clean bathroom was all I was looking for! Rooms are excellent, spacious, modern, and chic. Staff was open and friendly and the bar area is great to have a glass of wine or coffee and a nice conversation. Linz is not very big, but still, the hotel is right in between the train station and the historical center, with trams right nearby. My only complaint would be the breakfast. It was a whooping 16 euros - a little steep for your standard sausage/cereal/croissant combo.

I would stay again here - no questions asked! Definitely recommended if you are travelling for work and need a nice place to disconnect and rest.

This modern city hotel could be anywhere in the world. No old Linz charm here - more shiny and new. The location is very handy walking to the main shopping street of old Linz, along with numerous eateries including an excellent Thai restaurant just around the corner. A short stroll passes several old historic buildings that are on a brochured sightseeing walking route of the old city.

Our room was very comfortable - good mattress, substantial pillows (unlike 7 other small Austrian hotels we stayed in on this trip) and an excellent air-con. Room was bright and spacious, as was the bathroom - all very crisp, clean and clinically perfect.

Despite a more up-market appearance, but as per usual in Austrian (and German?) hotels, bathroom toiletries were still limited to the usual wall mounted dispenser - a one squirt apparently cleans everything from top to toe. A little sachet of shampoo, and maybe larger towels and a wash cloth would have been more welcome than the shower cap.

Breakfast was offered in pleasant spacious surroundings on the lower floor. A car park is located under the building.

This is really a businessman's hotel rather than one for the family or the tourist; everything was just so, very clean and functional, good service but not big on character. Decent value, and very close to the business centre of the city.

Good air con. Soft comfortable beds. Good selection at breakfast, whIch you could eat indoors or out. Cramped breakfast buffet food area. Staff ok but not that friendly. Very mean on bathroom toiletries. Hair and body shampoo dispenser fixed on wall for bath/shower. If you wanted body lotion for example you had to go to reception to ask for it.

Ate in hotel restaurant. Food nothing special. One odd thing - asked for a large orange juice with no ice. After tasting it realised it was very weak. Waiter said he had diluted it with water to make it a large orange juice!

Stayed here for just one night, but the stay was great. Got upgrade to the business suite on 7th floor, the suite was very nice with private outside terrace. Hotel is brand new with fabolous furnishing and great bathrooms. Breakfast great with plenty of choices.
