The rooms were very nice, not top notch but with a clever idea and a very transparent design. Liked the bath and it's in glass structure as well as the view of the basilica.

Checkin was fast and effective.

Breakfast nice and allright

Room Tip: rooms 104-109 have the better view

If it is not in Linz next to the Dome, by the way a huge beautiful Gothic cathedral, it could well be designed by a Zen Architect. Pure, top material, transparent.
While it is a garni Hotel, the restaurant is just 1 minute cross the square,it still has a bar, with a very experienced bar keeper. Worthwhile to ask for his advise with Austrian specialities. The breakfast one should not miss.
Location could not be better.

Rode our bikes into Linz from Schlogen. The hotel is well located next to the Mariandom Cathedral. The hotel is quite modern and appears to be more of a business hotel rather than a vacation spot.
Our room was adequate but has a number of design flaws that brought down our reviews a bit. The door into the toilet from the bathroom is extraordinarily awkward; staff knows about the issue but nothing has been done. A simple change of hinges would have made it much more comfortable. The lighting switches, etc, are high tech but, even as an engineer, I couldn't really figure them out.
Comfortable but I might find something more relaxing.

My boyfriend is originally from Linz, so we're in town quite often. The Hotel am Domplatz is our number 1 choice in Linz, as the rooms (and the beds!) are comfortable, the hotel is quiet though centrally located, and the value for money is on point.

I would recommend a superior room with a view towards the cathedral if you're staying with your significant other (the view is very much worth it!).

Room Tip: Definitely book a superior room with a view of the cathedral when traveling with your partner.

We passed through Linz on a cycling trip down the Danube and stayed a night at the Hotel am Domplatz. The hotel is pretty, modern and very comfortable. The location is outstanding, near to the Dom and to shopping and restaurants. It is also scrupulously clean and very quiet, and has a number of interesting three-dimensional art works throughout the lobby and hallways. The breakfast is one of the best we’ve had touring in the area. The one issue we had was with the bathroom, which features a couple of doors separating the sections of the bathroom that are clumsy to use and always in the way. The shower door sweeps the bath mat aside, and one has to squeeze around the door to the toilet section. What were they thinking? Otherwise, a great place to stay.
