they don't provide kettle in the room, that's fine. You can get hot water from their bar and each cup of them is 0.3 euro, that's fine. At 9 pm, I try buy one hot water for my sore throat the answer is " the machine is already been turn off, and I can't do anything " In the end, I got two big bottle hot water from the other hotel " gasthof zauner " and that's free.
so next time, if you really have to stay Gasthof Weisses Lamm, bring your kettle with you or don't catch the cold

The room is centrally located and it is spotless clean with a very good view. The breakfast offers wide spread and is generous. Well worth the money.

Our room is on the 3rd floor, though it can provide a better view, you have to carry your luggage all the way upstairs without elevator.

The staff is cool and there isn't any services at all, no greeting but just pass you key, that is. When checking out, we asked the owner, Alex (should be the son of the owner and the only one can speak English) where we can take the shuttle bus to the car park (car park P1 is located 20 mins from the hotel , and they have Hallstatt shuttle bus to pick up ppl to/from different hotels), he directed us to wait at the left hand side after exiting the hotel entrance which is the same place we were being dropped off. And, the shuttle runs at every half hour, so we just wait there for few minutes even it is quite a heavy raining day. However, after 15 mins, we can't see any shuttle bus come, and we asked Alex again, he replied that we have to go to the main street instead of the place we being dropped off. Totally confused. And, he further said we have to wave to the shuttle when it comes to show that we need the service. Oh god, it is a heavy raining day, and we have been carrying our umbrella for 15 mins, and then we have to stand in the street for another 30 mins (the bus late for 10 mins eventually) without any caring, any apologies for unclear directions, what a service.

Please be also reminded that they don't offer any drinking water and even kettle, be prepared that you have to drink tap water.

Room Tip: No elevator, be sure that you have requested a low floor room if you don't want to carry your lu...

Rooms are nice. Ours was a little small but clean, excellent bathroom and comfortable bed.

Woman greeting us was rude and unhelpful. Perhaps the owners prefer no English speaking guests. If so perhaps they need to just say so and we could go elsewhere.

We are pretty self sufficient but my husband is three months post BP replacement and no offer was made to help with small suitcase up the three flights of stairs. No attempt was made to try to understand our questions. Fortunately this experience is not characteristic of the warmth we found from other Austrians. We do love the country and its people.

We took the Tripadvisor recommendation and we were not disappointed: the breakfast was outstanding in its selection and the price is very reasonable. You would be very fortunate to have a lake view as most rooms don't. We ate there a few time in the evening, and were not disappointed: if you want to die young but content, try the hot platter, for two, at a very cheap 28 Euros and watch everyone crowd round to see if you can eat it!

Father and son are friendly and helpful but Doris unfortunately does not communicate with the guests: she is no doubt a very hard working person but I would be amazed to see her do stand-up at the Edinburgh festival.

Room Tip: Ask for a view on to the lake: you'll be lucky!

Our two nights stay is really a superb. Everything is beyond expectation; the cosy room, the scene from our windows, the balcony to the fresh breeze, and all the meals. Will definitely would return to this place again.

We stayed in room 21 for 2 nights and I must say it's a nice place. The room is clean with chairs facing balcony, although without lake view. The bathroom is well maintained, too. It's no doubt the breakfast is fabulous with selection of breads, scrambled eggs, hams, sausage, and even pickled seafood. The location is around central region of lake shore street but not right besides the street. I would recommend this good valued hotel for travelers especially with short stay because some other famous guest houses seem to accept long stay in Hallstatt.

We had a wonderful 4-night stay in this hotel in Hallstatt. The room was lovely and incredibly clean with a balcony (which sadly, we did not use because it was too cold and rainy). There was a table with two chairs in the room as well as on the balcony - great for poor weather! The breakfast was fabulous - scrambled eggs, meats, great breads, a sweet cake of some sort, fruit salad, and more. We also had dinner there twice and found the prices and food to be good.

Some people have commented on the abruptness of the staff but we found the two parents friendly (the mother is a quiet but nice). The son is a bit straight-faced but very professional and accommodating. When we asked to leave a day early (the weather was miserable), he said it was no problem and didn't need our names, room number, or anything. We highly recommend this comfortable, recently renovated hotel.

Room Tip: There isn't an elevator, so if stairs are a problem, you may want to ask for a lower room.
