We enjoyed staying at this hotel for four nights. The rooms were nicely furnished and breakfast was very good; although our first floor room faced the station and square, we had no problems with noise. Staff were friendly and helpful, and English speaking.
This hotel may not be a good choice for guests with mobility problems. First floor rooms are accessed by a fairly steep stairway. From the courtyard rooms, there are several steps (with no handrail) into the breakfast room. Within the breakfast room there are more steps (with a rail) from the buffet to the seating area.
The hotel is right by the bus stop for the frequent buses to Vienna (Heiligenstadt) and opposite the railway station (for regular trains to Vienna and, with one change, to Krems in the Wachau). The town centre is very close and, on the other side of the railway, you can walk to and along the Danube (though this section is not particularly attractive).
If you are able to manage over 100 steps, or go by the longer road route, it is also within walking distance of the Stift (Abbey), where we saw a superb outdoor performance of Mozart’s opera “The Magic Flute”.
