We stayed at the Hotel Metropole in April and our major regret was not having had dinner at the restaurant at that time. Finally we managed to book a table for lunch during our July trip and.... we still regret we didn't eat there in April! Very nice large tables on the terrace far enough one from the other. Professional but friendly service that made us feel relaxed. We decided to have the 2 starters + 1 main course + dessert menu and loved it. If the octopussy and the fish were very good the artichoke and the rice were amazing, I could have had tons of them. Dessert a bit sweet for me but not for my husband who tasted half the trolley. Excellent wine, of course! A great experience, expensive but we do not regret and we are planning our next meal there.

We recently stayed at the Metropole hotel, and while there we reserved a table at the Joël Robuchon restaurant. We were lucky to have an outdoor terraced table.

Well, from the moment we were welcomed into the restaurant, taken to our table and sat down, we were literally in culinary heaven. There was an abundance of waiters, and they all could not do enough for you.

Normally, when you go to a restaurant and they bring you out a little bit of bread and you think, "that was nice", the Joël Robuchon puts other places to shame! They bring out a cart full of different types of bread, all freshly made, and delicious. They kept offering bread and we kept sampling!! In the end we had to stop as we would have filled up before our food even got there. The bread trolley was an experience in itself.

We ordered our food, and yes its pricey, but I have to say that we had one of the best steaks we have ever eaten. Even though my steak was big, I was actually looking for more when I'd finished, it was delicious. We eventually finished and the waiter asked if we would like some dessert, and we said yes please can we take a look at the menu.
Next thing you know, they bring out another cart full of delicious cakes! OMG we didn't know what to have, there was so much tempting choice! The waiter kept piling our plates up with everything we pointed at, and we had to stop him in the end as we would have needed to be rolled out of there!!

From start to finish, this was truly an experience in every way, from the service, to the presentation, and most importantly the taste of everything.

Highly recommended.

We have been with our italian friends who wanted to visit this restaurant.

First of all I think this place is not in anyway for special occasions and I would say
not for dinners. Maybe for lunch when you do not expect too much- just to
have a snack))

The food was not bad , just good,
we tried lamb, guail , white fish carpaccio definitly need a smaller plate,
Monaco salad - oversalted .

We have been to so many much better places.

I now know what 3 Michelin stars stand for; awful, awful and really awful.
We ordered beef fillet.
Rare.
It was badly overcooked, and very tough and stringy. A really cheap piece of meet, which was badly cooks.
I could not comment on the taste because it was doused in pepper which was overwhelming!
I really tried to enjoy it as I have never eaten in a restaurant with Michelin stars.
I gave up when my jaw started aching.
It was accompanied by something strange, who knew that potatoes could taste like rubbery sheep droppings.
I have never had such an awful meal in my life.
The Michelin organization should be embarrassed to rate this chef.
It ruined a very special day for my wife and I.
I was so upset.
