We were staying at the Port Palace Hotel & went here as the hotels roof top restaurant. Lovely views on a lovely summery evening. Prices are high, but service looked polished & food nicely presented. It then went down hill from there.... Firstly a starter that was advertised as a crevette based starter, whilst tasty, had at best 1 prawn within it. My partners starter, was supposed to contain duck, but none was to be found. When the main course arrived, the missing duck became apparant, as one main course arrived minus the side accompaniments (which had been forgotten), the other was not even the dish we had ordered, which confirmed that the starters had also been mixed up! By the time the error had been fixed, the crab dish was finished (minus accompaniment); & I ate my meal alone. Al Dente pasta to the extreme, as they had obviously rushed it out.
Apologies were proferred, but the Manager refused to waive the bill for the incorrect dishes. After a mexican stand off, I took a 20% reduction & left to tell the Concierge how the restaurant was an embarrassment to them.
