“Busy Monaco beach”
Reviewed December 11, 2012

The beach is very busy, particularly in July and August and it can be difficult to find somewhere to put your towel. Listening to all the languages spoken on the beach is interesting - Russian, Italian, English, French, Swedish etc. Plenty of good restaurants on the beach including La Spiaggia, La Note Bleue etc. On the promenade above the beach, Baobab restaurant does the best capuccino in Monaco and is excellent value for lunch, dinner and wine. The beach is a sort of gravel rather than sand. The water temperature is between 20 and 25C in summer. Lifeguards on duty summertime.

“Beautiful calm sandy beach”
Reviewed November 11, 2012

I love Larvotto plage, the water is clam thanks to rocky breaks out to sea and the sand is not bad at all for this part of the coast. The restaurants that line the bay are not bad either but can be pricey, this is Monaco after all!

“Live near here”
Reviewed September 14, 2012

Just busy enough in September. Half private with nice restaurants & cafes a bit expensive of course.
Just about half left for free beach. Nice small pebbles & the sea is prevented from having jelly fish with a net across. The fish are protected too. Has nice 2 promenages above the beach one & children play skateboarding in part of the middle one. Good views.

“small but perfectly formed”
Reviewed September 6, 2012

we only had a window of opportunity of an hour of sunshine warm enough so the beach wasn't full. It is only small but unlike the med there were good waves to dive & play in. The beach angles sharply so gets deep immediately so not so good for small children. there are rafts to swim to & jump Dive and any other antics teenage boys get up to. you can snorkle and lots of large fish by harbour wall where sea calmer but deep. We went on Monday and all restaurants & icecream places closed so couldn't stay long. Need to bring drinks at least. but good fun had by all.
